Fuu
@Mr.:> It doesn't look shit, well done.Exactly what I was thinking. But, whats with the completely oversized preview window? I saw how big your sprites were.

Imposter
The wonders of photoshop.. ahhh. I can always resize it without problem if needed tho I honestly think the size should be fine, just made sure I made extra headroom for the custom sprites to be added. The game uses a native resolution of 800x600 and one thing I've noticed about making these custom GUI's is that its never a bad thing to make something too big, make it too small and you have to go back and do some rework. Start big then start trimming off some of that excess fat to make everything fit properly.Either way changes will be made over time :PBtw. Thank you all for the feedback all comments welcome <
Imposter
Added a video of the making if anyones curious to see what it looks like to be cranked out while workin on something, quality sucks cuz my default encoder isn't functional atm.

Owen F
Damn that looks good.Nice job, well done and all that crap.Seriously though this looks really good, will definitely be keeping tabs on this game.
Dark Crusade
Good work, although it's definitely not the sort of interface fitting for an RPG. Especially one named 'Gates of Anubis' which makes me think of ancient egypt, deserts, and so forth.
Imposter
I kind of just noticed its shaped a lot like .hack//quantum's GM looking menu lol.Well I hope it atleast helps inspire some. ;)
7Eleven
I like it! Although some gray here and there would compliment the blue very nicely.

Scribbyz
I'm gonna have to agree with Kreator on this one. It just doesn't match the style of game. Dont get me wrong, it's a lot nicer than what usually appears here.
Imposter
Haha. I completely understand where you guys are coming from. I appreciate the comments tho, it's good to hear from different aspects. The title is indeed Gates of Anubis, which totally makes sense what you guys say. The first thing that pops up off the top of my head are ancient egyptian times as well. It has a lot of reasons behind it but I cannot say much as I do not want to spoil the story for you guys. :PIt's understood. The game title sounds completely irrelevant to the style of its interface. Kemerd
I think it's very nice, no bad comments, aside that it's a little too… blue?
Imposter
@Dremek:> I think it's very nice, no bad comments, aside that it's a little too… blue? It's the very first style I created for it, now that I have layouts ready I can add some style to em.Of course everybody doesn't like the same color I just chose that one cuz blue happens to be my favorite color. :PThe game however will indeed feature skin color cuztomization to allow a broader range of preference for players to enjoy. <3POWAH TO THE PLAYAHS!!! Owen F
It flows well with the tiles and sprites, the only problem with THAT is, well, I don't think that style suits the name either, as kreator said, it makes me think of egyptian death and things like that.It just looks too…. Happy, is what I'm getting at.I know I already commented but that was just me clicking on threads looking at the contents, not the name, and now that I see the name and have read your WIP, I just don't think it suits it.However, I realise nothing is set in stone when it comes to GUI, just giving my thoughts. The GUI itself looks great, nothing wrong with it, it just doesn't suit your game. Mr.LLoyd
The GUI looks really good. But it looks like a pokemon gui for some reason it doesn't fit the game.
IdoFreeLogos
@Imposter:> Nickelodeon? Hahaha cmon man I could do better than that rofl. You pretty much just trolled yourself, were you too scared to post that on your real name?Wasn't a troll, was the truth. On a different note, you name the game "Gates of Anubis" and then show us that GUI, its like naming a game "Lord Of The Underworld" and then showing us a pretty pink GUI. I think you should just rename your game to "blue online".
Imposter
Still haven't answered the question. Just goes to show where your mentality is, and what type of stuff you watch =/. Please enlighten me with a demonstration of your own game instead of cluttering up my post with endless trolling lol I take comments and suggestions. Not trolls. Take that ish elsewhere. Take that ish elsewhere. Why do I need to make my own game to judge yours, I don't need to be a chef to know if something tastes bad. Everyone in here is already telling you how your GUI does not fit. And why would it matter what my main account is? I am only telling you what everyone is already telling you. Are you just mad that you are incapable of creating a more advanced UI that takes more than just gradients?
DÃÂsk
Okay sirs, we know it doesn't fit the damn title. This is not talking about the title and its relationship to the GUI, if we wanted that, we'd let you know. This is to showcase Imposter's work (which is damn good by the way) and to get feedback on IT, not the flippin title of the game. There's something called CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM, meaning actual, applicable ideas to fix mistakes you find in our work. Also, this includes elaborating on how we can fix it as well, you say its "too blue", what the hell does that mean? Decrease the saturation? Change the hue? Elaborate. Also, we've stated that we'll skin the GUI later on, so why keep bringing the same problems up? If you're going to post, at least read the whole thread so we don't see the same damn line ten times. If you're going to criticize Imposter's work, which he has worked hard on and spent hours on it, at least give a fraction of your time to read the whole thread and make intelligent posts so that we may create bigger and better things.Thank you for your time and consideration, and if you are not going to give constructive insight, please refrain from wasting our time and energy.
