Joost
Properly done instanced maps for parties
GodWar
@Joost:> Properly done instanced maps for partiesThats a good idea but i think generate maps is a very strange work. MAYBE create maptemplates and then add mobs and bosses or so…

GodWar
Instances like Diablo 3!? ^^ There are all instances random :)
Joost
The idea about instanced maps the way I envision it (WoW way) is that 1 unique map with unique mobs and items is spawned for every party that enters the map. So you'll never see other people there. Goal is dungeons.

JohnPony
Instanced maps are very simple, a friend walked me through it months ago when i was unsure about myself in Vb6\. You're just copying the data from one map and storing it for each party to use, of course there are many methods you can use to accomplish this. Some being more efficient then others, the system i use copies the map data for the selected instance map, and clears it out of the memory when there is no one on the map any longer.
