    Skyrim

This game is really fun but for some odd reason, I can't seem to be motivated to keep playing. Does that make sense? When I first started, it was fun but after 10 or 20 minutes, I just stop. Well I just recently finished Saints Row: The Third so I'm gonna try playing it again. Sincerely, Rithy
  2. @NamelessSoul: > Explain yourself. Laptops tend to have horrible cooling system, plus it's just not made to be powerful but rather power efficient. I mean, just look at the processor. It's clocked at 1.4Ghz and only overclock itself if needed. Why do you think it does that? You probably could play games but I wouldn't suggest you try to finish Skyrim all in one night on that machine. Either way, it's a great deal for $400. Sincerely, Rithy
  3. For $400, it's a pretty good deal. I wouldn't say you should do too much gaming on it, though. And as for the CPU, it is underclocked at 1.4Ghz but I believe it can go up to 2.3Ghz. Beside, it's a quad core so it should be fine. Sincerely, Rithy

    Computer Build

@Eckhart: > Doesn't that seem a bit excess? I mean, if it's good for the price do it, but 3.4GHz is a shit ton. My computer has 2.4 and I run Skyrim on ultra with no lag. Not to mention it's quad cores lol. But I think his build is pretty good as it is right now because you don't want the CPU to be bottle-neck or anything, and who know, maybe he may want another GPU for SLI in the future. Sincerely, Rithy

    Computer Build

@Zonova: > AMD Phenom II X4 975 Black Edition Deneb 3.6GHz > > That processor is cheaper, and a bit better as well. Atleast, i think it's better. > > Also, i prefer Radeon to GeForce, but that's probably because i'm used to it. Sandy Bridge is a much better architecture than any AMD. If you want performance, I'd say stick with the i7. As for the graphics card, I'd prefer and also use ATI/AMD Radeon HD series because it's more power efficient and cheaper but all of my friends said nVidia beats all. And what Anna said is true. Seriously though if you can run APB on Max, your build is pretty beast. It's really the RAM that's a problem for me. And an outdated CPU. And also the low end GPU. I don't think there is any other game that require as much resource as APB. Sincerely, Rithy

    An MMO

^ I was actually gonna suggest Mabinogi, too. I want to start playing again but from what you said, maybe I should change my mind. Anyway, EverQuest II is F2P on Steam. Sincerely, Rithy
  7. ME! I'm an enforcer on Joker name Rithy58. Doing missions all day get boring so I like to get with a group of friends and catch some Crims, or if I'm alone, help a Crim raid a local shop then steal his vehicle :D Sincerely, Rithy
  8. @Tylian!: > Yeah that's it. In case you didn't know, there's a direct relationship between bytes in memory (which are usually represented with hex) and assembly. > > ![](http://i.tylian.net/vmz21c.png) Oh, shoot. I didn't know that. Well then that's great that you included the instruction in the comments. My assembly knowledge is way too limited to understand it lol. This is great though, you make me want to get further knowledge with assembly. Sincerely, Rithy
  9. @Tylian!: > The actual assembly is in the Constant string at the top of the Class, I assembled it using ollydbg(lol). > The comments are just there so I remember what the assembly for that routine is. XD Private Const CallStub As String = "58595950493E8B0C8D00000000FFE1" That's the only likely line I found and if that's it, I'm completely lost lol. Sincerely, Rithy
  10. If this was the thing he told me about, he actually use assembly to handle the packets. Either way, I would love to see this when I get home. EDIT: I took a look and…mind blown. Now theoretically, this would be faster, right? And I see the CallHandler are assembly code but written in comments. I don't understand this completely yet so if you have time to explain a bit more, I would really appreciate it. I've also finished reading the article you gave me. Sincerely, Rithy
  11. Anyone still play this? I'm just starting out on Joker Server as "Rithy58" as IGN. Sincerely, Rithy
  12. Contact me via MSN: [email protected], GTalk/email at [email protected] or simply PM. This is very easy. I can resize the screen in a matter of minutes. Even put in options for multiple screen resolution. However, moving the GUI around will take alot of time because of the GUI System. I will charge this based on the time it take me to finish, not how difficult it is since it's fairly easy. Sincerely, Rithy
  13. @taco101: > I cant find the link for the MOST CURRENT version. I see all these posts about how awsome it is and and how many features there are and that "Ill post the link" But i cant find it. Can someone give me the link for the most current upto date version please! I don't think this is released yet. Sincerely, Rithy
  14. Tested on CS:DE. Require modification for auto-tile but it work great. Here's what I changed to fit what I want: Instead of the whole map, it only do select region. Pretty simple. Just change the For x = 0 to Map.MaxX to For x = txtMinX.text to txtMaxX.text or something the like. For autotile, just check whether the scrlAutoTile = 0\. If it's 0, do the regular code. Else just add a , , frmMap_Editor.scrlAutoTile.value to the end of the SetTile Method. Sincerely, Rithy
  15. Doesn't that allow one account to play on two servers simultaneously? A better way is just to have one central authentication server that will assign a player to a game server. Sincerely, Rithy
  16. Your high school offer C? I'm surprised. Most, including mind only offer some kind of BASIC(mostly VB) or something along the line to introduce people to programming(ALICE) and then there is the AP Java, which I'm taking currently and it's pretty stupid. I learned Java in a couple of months but it's been more than a quarter of the year and we're not even at loop yet. I strongly suggest C. You'll learn other programming syntax easier(such as Java and C++). However, it's best to practice programming in VB6(not the .NET with the OOP, I mean might as well go with C# or Java) because it's super easy to use and it help teach you to program more efficiently and most importantly, how to program something/solve problems. Sincerely, Rithy

    [CS:DE] Music

EDIT: Once compiled, it work. It's only in the IDE that doesn't work. Music and sound does not seem to be working. Everytime I close the Client, I get Run-Time Error '53': File not found: fmod.dll fmod.dll is in the client folder and I already put in Robin's modMusic fix. Sincerely, Rithy
  18. @314piwm: > This code seems to be working for me. I think I might have made some changes to it.. > http://pastie.org/2815489 What is Order? I don't think I have that one. Do you mind helping me over MSN or something? It would save me a lot of trouble if I can get this pathfinding to work. Sincerely, Rithy
  19. @Dash: > This is Zelda/Graal inspired right? so please tell me you have that free moving feel of those games, you know like this: > > http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/124scratch/1889898 Free Moving feel of those game? Do you mean like Pixel-Based Movement? As of right now, I don't think he had change the movement so it's still Tile-Based movement which is what I prefer and how the engine was set up to be. PvP is much more fun and practical with the Tile-Based Movement. Imagine shooting someone with an arrow and you missed by one pixel. Sincerely, Rithy
  20. @314piwm: > There might be an error in that code, at the beginning of the findPath command. I have the row and col values flipped (fail) EDIT: I just checked. The value for Row and Column doesn't seem to be flipped or anything. They seem fine to me. Not sure why it never return the path in the If statement. It always return null. This is the first time I'm developing an AI so all these are pretty new to me. Anyway, I researched the A* Algorithm and I somewhat understand the pseudocode of it. When I look at your code, it look about right. However, when I use it, findPath always return null. I'm looking into what you said now and also analyzing the code more. I thought it would just work but there seem to be a few small problems in it. Sincerely, Rithy
  21. I'm stealing Origin's AI system for my VB.Net AI and also using 314piwm for my Java AI. Thanks for that. Ryoku, using the local testing tools is easy. You need to install python and make sure you set up your environmental variable so terminal understand the command python. Then you just have to edit the arguments in Play_One_Game.cmd(or .bat. not sure) I'm guessing you're using VB.Net on Windows. So You just gotta change one of the "python ""…"" " to like "sample_bot\vb\MyBot.exe" with MyBot.exe being your compiled AI. I'm using Mono on Ubuntu so not sure if I told you correctly. But you should look up on how the game engine work so you know how your AI and the game actually communicate. Sincerely, Rithy
  22. I keep track of the enemy hill, however you can't really keep track of your enemy ants because it's always changing. Keep track of the ants near the hill is even harder. Unless you're keeping one ant to scout that hill. Instead, this is how I do things. I group the ants and once it's more than 50, all are going for the kill. I guess I can improve that "50" by changing it throughout the game. Still working on it. Sincerely, Rithy
  23. Well I'm keeping track of the orders I'm giving to each ants for each turn. I don't want to tell two ants to go for the same food location. I also keep track of all ants hill found. Once I have enough ants, I send them in for the attack. I'm just not sure when to do that yet. There is no way for me to know how many ants the enemy have. I'm also working on the exploring. I send ants to different part of the map to explore. Again, keep track of what's going on. I don't want to send ants to the same place. As for the pathfinding, I'm probably also going to keep track of data again. Sincerely, Rithy
  24. Ryoku, how are you keeping the data? I tried keeping it in HashTable or Stack and it won't compile on the server. Sincerely, Rithy
  25. I started with a very basic Java Bot. It just tell the ants to explore the unexplored tiles then loop it over and over. Then I tried VB. I wrote VB in VS 2010 but didn't work on their server with Mono. I'm not sure what's wrong cause I never do anything for Mono. It was something to do with HashTable. So I switched to a very basic Python for temporary. I don't know enough Python to keep going and make my Bot better so I went back to Java. I added food gathering as top priority and also avoid collision. I did not know that collision cause ants to die. Now I just need to do the pathfinding cause using getDirection cause the ants to get stuck in corners. Researching on A* Algorithm at the moment and will try to implement it in my Java Bot then it's ready to upload. How are you guys doing? Sincerely, Rithy
