  1. Fixed and added more details. Street tiles was supposed to be fancy with a pattern of tile and no tile. It worked for the vertical path, but the horizontal path proved difficult. Also made a different view of the building, showing the narrow side. Been thinking of a name for the game, and I think I've come up with one ^^ Zelts! ORPG ![](http://i978.photobucket.com/albums/ae265/andytriplec/Chibi%20Town/city_mockup.gif)
  2. @Wing Yea, I did it on purpose lol. @Supersake K, I'll fix the crates up. I rushed it b/c I saw it was somewhat empty. @Num Thanks!
  3. @Grim: > as a matter of fact i did do it in msPaint… > I don't have Photoshop because it sucks IMO I guess. It's better to be open-minded. Each program has its pros and cons. I use Mspaint for pixeling and photoshop for other stuff.
  4. @Grim: > Done making a button! > ![](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/files/imagehost/pics/3a1b31b12b72d46cdccc2d84496183d1.bmp) > tell meh how it looks :3 Do you have photoshop? The tutorial is easily doable with it. From what I see, it looks like you made it in paint, which is doable.

    Work of boredom

Oh, simplicity, I like :) You should post a 2x version next time. I had to do it to see the details. The colors complement each other. I really like the trees. Be bored and post more?
  6. Lots of progress today I would like to believe. Finished and animated the water fountain and have been working on a castle/city tiles. The street tiles turned out really well in my opinion. Hopefully you guys will agree that the black outlines make it cute/pop-outish/cool/awesome/etc. I updated the tiles for the roofs since the wooden roof was too detailed compare to the old tile roofs. Tell me what you think of them. Fountain looks like the Safari Browser huh LOL ![](http://i978.photobucket.com/albums/ae265/andytriplec/Chibi%20Town/waterfountain.gif) I was also going for a LoZ: Minish Cap presentation with the outline sticking out of the base. Link's here if you're interested. http://www.spriters-resource.com/gameboy_advance/lozminish/mc_figurines.png ![](http://i978.photobucket.com/albums/ae265/andytriplec/Chibi%20Town/imperialtown.png)
  7. I've already fixed the outline inconsistencies for the iron buildings, but I'll repost those when I have new iron tiles. I decided to work on roof varieties since those plain tile roofs must will bore everybody soon. I might simplify it down since even though it is still 3 colors like the tile-roofs, it seems more detailed when zoom out. Either this, or I touch up the tile-roofs. Chimney was last second add-on :) ![](http://i978.photobucket.com/albums/ae265/andytriplec/Chibi%20Town/woodenroof.png)

Might as well post this in a website developing forum since most people here probably don't have enough skill for you to acknowledge them. Msing Robin alone is more effective based on what I've read.
  9. @Wing: > That looks amazing. My only criticism would be is that the black outline on the conveyor stands out to much. Other than that you have a really nice style! Oh yea, ur right lol. I forgot to lightened outlines on the inside. Kk, will upload fix when I get more stuff done.

@Pbcrazy: > And they sell by the millions! ;) True :/ Sad, though. Those people are just replaying the same game xD
  11. @Wing: > I rather use Graphics Gale because I can see where I am placing my pixel before placing it, but I'm sure some would love to see this. True, true, to each his/her own. You can turn on the grid in MSPaint once you zoom in though. Just press ctrl-G after you zoom in.
  12. Hey everybody. It's been a while xD Almost a year in fact. Truthfully, I didn't do any pixeling in that amount of time. Been schooling, starcraft II-ing, lots of starcraft II-ing in fact, and now playing ME 3\. I actually lost a chunk of work for this tileset, and MS Paint on windows 7 for my new PC didn't really motivate me. However, I get XP Paint as my default program, and I love it! Not a lot of stuff, but this will be Iron City. I am aiming for it to look & feel like Iron City in Princess Mononoke, so the electric cables might go away lol. Colors are somewhat dark, but I like the rusty, old feeling to it. Still deciding on the door on the right. ![](http://i978.photobucket.com/albums/ae265/andytriplec/Ironcity.png)
  13. @Crest: > I missed the old xp paint, it's much easier to do pixel work on the paint from xp, and photoshop is good for recoloring but not good for actually making pixel art >_> thanks this will come in handy Yea, I was pixeling on Photoshop and couldn't stand it yesterday, so I was messing around n googling. Surprisingly, nobody knew of this or Google didn't spidered websites w/ this tutorial. Anyhow, I figured it out, so enjoy :)

@Pbcrazy: > I think perhaps, that if it looks good, and is well executed, who cares? Else we may end up debating the timing of all in the universe. > > "No, it's too soon, we just emptied the toilet 2 hours ago!" Lol, look at EA. AC and CoD once every year
  15. Hey everybody. So first things first. It's been almost a whole year since I've been back, so I don't know if there was a tutorial for this or not, and the search function isn't really helpful :) If there was, please delete :( And I'm not talking about just downloading an external program, but making it replace the shitty win.7/vista version. I'm pretty sure it will work for Vista, but if not, tell me! Works 100% for Win. 7 AND NO, I delete fake this image lol. ![](http://i978.photobucket.com/albums/ae265/andytriplec/xppaint.png) So here goes! 1) Download file from http://www.mspaintxp.com/ 2) Once installed go to "C:\Program Files\Paint XP" unless you changed the directory 3) Copy the xp version, ignore the win.98 version and the dll files. 4) Go to C:\Windows\System32 and fine "mspaint.exe" < the ABOMINATION that we will delete Here's the tricky/complicated/annoying part and I'm going to provide a link b/c the link has lots of pictures compared to a wall of text. The reason is that TrustedInstaller will not let you delete/edit/change the system32 files unless you follow the steps provided in the link http://helpdeskgeek.com/windows-7/windows-7-how-to-delete-files-protected-by-trustedinstaller/ This step is to change the owner of the file from TrustedInstaller to You/administration, so you can delete the mspaint.exe 5) So once you can delete the ABOMINATION!, copy the xp version into the system32 folder and go to properties of .png/.bit/.jpg file and change the default program to mspaint. It'll read the xp version now :)
  16. Enjoy! Remember to watch the youtube links for more lulz and try not to lose to many brain cells lol. http://www.cracked.com/article_19160_8-scenes-that-prove-hollywood-doesnt-get-technology.html
  17. @Anna: > Why no perspective in the interiors? Interiors are much smaller and controllable environments with regards to the camera angle, to actually make that perspective much more feasible. I didn't do the perspective for the interior because I wanted to have the roof frames covering parts of the objects for effects. But I did one anyways, and it's not too bad xD. A bit more details for the bar counter, but that's about it for now. The table's perspective is off b/c I didn't edit it lol. Still no shadow, etc, etc! ![](http://i978.photobucket.com/albums/ae265/andytriplec/Chibi%20Town/mockup7.png) ![](http://i978.photobucket.com/albums/ae265/andytriplec/mockup6-1.png)
  18. @Murdock: > youre a great artist Andiii … keep up the work on this game, cuz its definately looking nice! Thanks! Hopefully, it'll be a game someday, but rite now, I'm just concentrating on whooping them out. @Devo: > it looks good, perhaps alter the texture you use for all the roofs? it sort of looks a bit less detailed than other items on your maps now, such as the trees. Critique noted. I'll get to it soon. Thanks. A fresh change this update. Even though I saw a fresh change, the colors make it stale lol. I didn't really focus on colors this time. Instead, I just focused on getting the objects down. The brown for the tables and chairs really kill the atmosphere. I will change that in following update, perhaps lol. No shadows either :| ![](http://i978.photobucket.com/albums/ae265/andytriplec/mockup6-1.png)
  19. @zulu: > _Love_ the perspective, artwork is fantastic. Great work :cheesy: Thanks! @[Jake: > link=topic=67812.msg754997#msg754997 date=1300460780] > Looking good man, I was wondering where this went haha > Keep it up, I'm a fan of your art! ;) A fan of your project retro too ^^ @Wraith: > Ha, now the sprites sword arm doesn't move forward. It only stays by the sprites side or it moves back 1 pixel. Here's the old one. Yea, I know. I did a 2nd one w/ the sword moving forward, but it was too much, so I made it go up one pixel instead. ![](http://i978.photobucket.com/albums/ae265/andytriplec/Chibi%20Town/animationside-1.gif)
  20. @Toranos: > I really like it dude, amazing work. > > Only crit I have is I assume by the 'hill' in the water that the water is partially transparent, so you would have to do the same with the grass, for it to make sense. Or else it's pretty much saying the grass is a thin piece of land on the water. > > ![](http://img696.imageshack.us/img696/8215/mockup5.png) > > Other than that, I love it all. It has great perspective, and great colors. Ace job :) Lol, many thanks Toranos. Got me there xD. Totally overlook when I amazed myself hahaha. Thanks again!
  21. @Wraith: > I don't know if you noticed or not, but the arms shouldn't move at the same time on that side sprite. Kay, thx. I rechecked, and I had them wrong. No wonder it looked weird somehow.
  22. Thanks for the comments again. Also, I'm not going to get rid of the black outlines b/c its a style I'm choosing to use. All objects, terrains, etc except the ground tile will have black outlines for the pop effect. I've worked some more on the side poses, and it's pretty good lol. Here's another animation. Not perfect though. Just a test. ![](http://i978.photobucket.com/albums/ae265/andytriplec/Chibi%20Town/animationside-2.gif) And I am still making more objects and tiles to bring maps to life. This is the most liveliness mockup until now xD Also redid the water, chopped trees, and some flowers. More variations later. [Reedited thanks to Toranos] ![](http://i978.photobucket.com/albums/ae265/andytriplec/Chibi%20Town/mockup5-1.png) ![](http://i978.photobucket.com/albums/ae265/andytriplec/Chibi%20Town/mockup5.png)
  23. Thanks for the comments lol, a bit late of a reply. I had to take a break b/c of school and unnecessary drama, but hopefully, I can go back on do what I enjoy. I have finals next week, so barely had time to mess around. Nothing significant, but I finished doing all 12 poses for the base template. A little animation. The shield is a bit messed up and the sword is a bit off but overall, it works. ![](http://i978.photobucket.com/albums/ae265/andytriplec/animation.gif) Also made some more dirt variations to add liveliness to maps. ![](http://i978.photobucket.com/albums/ae265/andytriplec/Chibi%20Town/grasspatch.png)
  24. Happy Birthday Mate. Haven't talked to you in a while b/c of school. I'll try to get some stuff done!
