  1. Since when did eclipse use UDP…? last time i checked my servers have never streamed nor raped my bandwith...
  2. @Greg: > For everyone who says you need a big development team to have a popular game, all I have to say is Minecraft. You're an idiot -.- There will always be exceptions, but consider this, minecraft is but one indie game that managed to get huge, and even at that it's through fluke, Minecraft is a good game, for about a week… then you've no idea what else to do other than build more houses and shit... it's like lego, as a kid FUCKING MAZING, pick it up now, you'll make like 1 thing a year, if that... Think of how many MILLIONS of indie games are released each year, how many have you heard of becoming famous opposing the the leading titles within the Games Industry, For Instance lets look at Call of Duty shall we (fuck MW3, that was shit), Modern Warfare 2 cost just over $45 million to make... Activision just threw money at the developers to make the game as amazing as possible to be the successor of MW1, In the first 6 months of it's release, MW2 brought in over $1billion in profits from sales and revenue. MW2 also had a team of 46 developers working on the game non stop from start to finish, each with leading roles and sub roles. Minecraft is nothing compared to the leading games in the industry, you may turn round and say "46 people isn't that much" But when you consider how much you're going to have to pay them for their wages in the professions these people do, that's a fucking lot of money. So yes, occasionally there are exceptions from the indie devs, but very very very very very fucking rarely. The people with the most money make the biggest games. Minecraft is barely complex, there's really fuck all in it if you think about it, just a few billion voxels and some entities and a bit of redstone, that's it. compared to the complexety of leading titles. use your brain before posting such idiocy... Minecraft only became popular through Steam giving it publicity, before steam nobody had heard of it, and before the hipsters jump in saying they played it before it was cool, everyone has at least one friend who uses steam and i bet they were the one who introduced you to minecraft. Moral is: If it wasn't for steam, minecraft would be just another indie game that some guy made in his spare time that got nowhere. The gaming industry is of the most difficult industries to make it in, and this bit is directed towards the OP, if you HONESTLY think that having that attitude towards making games, the "I don't want to make them because i enjoy making games, i want to make a huge game an become rich because i deserve it and i'm so fucking awesome!" then turn the fuck around, hit the log out button and go continue with your life working as a cashier in McDonalds, because you're a fucking idiot too. People make games because they have a passion for it, just like doctors have a passion for medicine, authors have a passion for writing, artists have a passion for producing art, no passion = you're already failing before you've even put your foot on the ladder. Moral of my rant to you, continue playing the piano, but games development isn't for you...
  3. As far as i'm aware there isn't. A Guild system is a pretty big change if you want anything even mildly impressive to work on.
  4. @Marsh: > Pawn shops are a last resort. You can normally sell something on craigslist for double what a pawn shop gives. or ebay.
  5. My servers been down sine last august due to mass development and college studies getting in the way of time to make a game… The minecraft server has been up 24/7 for the past 9 days now. The server you'll have (once my new server is built) will be paid, i can't offer it for free, you'll get remote connection and a set size of the hard drive. Should you however try to access any areas you are not permitted to or cause any harm to my server then your account will be revoked immediately and no refund will be given.
  6. @Adieu: > ![](http://alltheragefaces.com/img/faces/png/cereal-guy-cereal-guy-spitting.png) I love you :') Thanks for the comment guys :) They're part of a college project :P Although they might be in my game ;)
  7. That would be because they have health, and as your gun powers up you kill them faster :P
  8. I suggest learning somewhat of a skill or improving on any you may already have. GUI design isn't that difficult. It just takes a lot of time. Come up with a basic theme and keep it consistent. As far as the pixel work goes, you're on the right track, but you do need to improve, i suggest looking in the tutorial section for Kreator's pixel tutorials. They'll help you alot. You need to work on shading and toning. However your basic shapes are fine. Programmers (most likely) won't offer to join until you have some show able stuff for your game already, a few decent maps and playable areas. Admins, on the topic of recruiting admins PLEASE do not do this like you are… Recruiting an admin to moderate your game is one of the most important things you do right. Don't just recruit anyone, make sure you can trust them to not go in the game an fuck everything up. @Aeri: > You won't get a free host, dude. Host it from your computer or get something like the one Kris offered I had free host for 2 years with kryce. Kite hosted it for 1 year and a friend of mine the other. He might get one when he has more to show for his project. @Skillzalot: > Well all i see here is a small snippet of info and you basically asking for other people to make your game for you, why should we help if your not willing to help yourself first. Do not ask for both artists and programmers learn one and once you get good enough at it show off what youve done and the other will join you. Also as for your pixel art its not good at all. Please dont take this the wrong way but its something you need to learn man Advice isn't meant to come in the form if dick-ishness. Everyone's a noob here at some point. And we've (most of us) have done this same thing. Support is what gets people making good games, what you just offered wasn't.
  9. So i just royally ballsed up editing my initial post -.- it's actually quite easy to move around with the large stage it has.
  10. I can't really offer any service out as a programmer due to being tied up with other wok at the moment too. But i might be able to offer you a cheap host on a partition on my server. It won't be ready for another 2/3 weeks mind.

    My items

The swords look cool, they have a very toon shader/zelda style to them, i like it, however the potion bottles seem a bit too flat, and big… Just my opinion mind. Good work man.
  12. And i came up with this! [![](http://kryce-online.co.cc/Flash/ciara.png)](http://www.kryce-online.co.cc/ciara.html) (click the image to play) Comments/Suggestions? ps. The project isn't yet finished ;) It's merely at Version 0.1.3
  13. I swear i've seen that car before in one of the XSI tutorials or press releases or something…
  14. What do you think? ![](http://kryce-online.co.cc/images/work/RainbowFishRight0.png) ![](http://kryce-online.co.cc/images/work/Right0.png)
  15. Also, the solid grey handle bit, fishing rods have a thickish cylindrical handle and a round reel. >! ![](http://thehut.pantherssl.com/productimg/0/300/300/17/30001217-1286547112-146000.jpg)
  16. that's pretty cool, although i'd say if the person is fishing the rod should be bent slightly…
  17. What ~~scrooge~~ robin said… i think?
  18. no. "Every time a Legend, Moderator, Admin or Marsh posts, you have to restart!" meaning it's still going. 47. Stop trying to ruin the game ;o
