For some background information, i'm a Bsc Games Programming student in university, we have a Game Jam class, I am by no means a composer but I do like dabbling in it. The game is Indiana Ginge & The Hotel of Bodge Jobs. Indiana retired to be a Hotel Inspector. He goes to inspect a newly built hotel, however, it was built by cowboy builders and the place starts falling apart. Stuck in the pent house suit, Indiana must escape the hotel before it collapses. So yeah, it was originally an iOS game and they ported it to facebook with unity. It's like a cheap Final Fantasy Dungeon Crawler game made in unity. It still uses the iOS database however so you have to make your own player name in the game, If you do join, join the Cucubita server. Okay, so I decided to make this a regular thing. Every now and then when I'm on the shoutbox. I will randomly tell everybody online to pick a random number between 1 and however many people are online. I will then pick one of these random numbers and they will be the active player of a random shoutbox text adventure. for the record, i'm not an angry PS3 fanboy… I moved on to PC gaming shortly after getting a playstation 2 back in 2004 or sometime near there... I did only buy an xbox 360 about a year ago, and solely to join my flat mate online as I actually enjoy FPS's on it, even if I am terrible with a controller. For portability duck everything and buy a wii U, you don't even need a tv, you can use the controller. But really though, every console ALREADY does all of this shit, you don't need a console to watch tv. The playstation 2, Xbox, and 360 and PS3 all allowed you to watch movies and listen to music. The 360, PS3 and Wii allowed you to go online. These aren't new innovative things. They have simply ran out of ideas and have nothing to show.

Perhaps, however the reveal of a console is to reveal the console… being a GAMES console, their priority SHOULD have been showing any advances in gaming... Did they? No, instead they spent an hour showing how the xbox one can watch TV, the thing that your TV can do by itself already... play music and videos, which everything does now (i think the wii U does too?). And skype. What the duck? Why the duck does it need skype? Are Xbox Parties not enough? I don't recall them showing any exclusives or announcing any, the DID show fifa 13 and CoD:Ghosts, which both are coming out for the PS4 too... "XBOX ONE! THERE'S A HALO TV SHOW COMING!" make no correlation what so ever.... They have gone from console to media center, which is basically a pc with incredibly shit hardware. "New AI, fish move" so duck? There really is no reason to buy an xbox one, you may as well just go with PC. at least PC's can be fixed when they break by yourself without having to send it off or wrap it in a towel or whatever other things there were to fix the last xbox. NOT TO MENTION, this reveal was postponed for a month, in response to the playstation 4's reveal video, which didn't show a ducking thing but a blurry black box. AND, they have also confirmed that the Xbox One does not have an always on DRM BUT it does have to be connected to the internet at least once in every 24 hours to be able to play games. Also, there's the whole fee to play pre-owned games, however i don't know if this is confirmed or not. And let's not forget the feature that I simply can not wait for:

Personally, i thought it looked rather terrible. the entire video of the reveal was bad, It went "Tv, tv, skype, internet, movie, tv, a game that isn't exlucisve, internet, tv, another unexclusive game, done" They're trying to make a GAMES console an all round Media hub,m and it will not work. People simply do not want that. Let's watch television on our xbox! on the tv… no.... "Let's have a skype call! Because Xbox Live Parties aren't as good!" once again... no.. And the look! I'm looking for some form of algorithm, of how to randomly generate a map without it looking terrible. For instance, height maps to proceduraly generate a river or two across a map, grass, dirt, sand, trees, rocks, decor etc etc etc. Can any of you guys point me in the right direction on where to begin with this?

i'd suggest that it's because you're not using your random function as ridiculously enough. There is no such thing as truly random generation in code. so there will always be a pattern. if you narrow it so simply "1-10,10-20" You're gunna get pretty much the same results. SO, i'd suggest instead of trying to randomly generate per tile in a loop. just use random tiles. something like for i = 1 to max_objects randx = 1 to screenwidth randY = 1 to screen width tile[x,y]= object. Works better IMO

So you want other people to play your game ey? In this tutorial I will show you how to use port forwarding in order to 'get your game online'. I'm using windows 7 but this process works over any OS. (even if eclipse doesn't aha) HOWEVER, the command line command may differ with other OS' **Step 1** First things first, go ahead and open Command Prompt (cmd) >!  **Step 2** Type in IPCONFIG and smash enter. >!  **Step 3** You might get A LOT of information from this command so just scroll up until you find your actual internet connection. You're going to need to remember two things from this, your router's IP and your Internal IP. >!  **Step 4** Open your web browser and go to your Router's IP address. you will need to log in, in most cases these passwords haven't been changed by home users. they are usually: Admin/admin admin/changeme admin/default default/default admin/(blank) default/admin default/(blank) >!  **Step 5** Next you need to look around the settings of the router and find the Port Forwarding setting. I was under the impression that check boxes were those weird components in vb6 where you used .checked (true/false) rather than value because value didn't actually work right…
