  1. You're asking about two different problems here. The original post had OTHER players who were out of date. If you have this error on the hosted machine with the most up-to-date client then it'll probably be a resource error. Delete the map your player is sat on.
  2. GetTotalMapPlayers returns only one value. What are you talking about?
  3. @Erwin: > I can't watch any of them because embedding is not enabled. Click the video again, Einstein.
  4. @Scott: > Use the Vb6 controls built Or just build an array of your own 'controls' through virtual rects and add function callbacks using GetAddress. Hook in to the Windows mouse input API and use a hashtable to route the traffic to the set functions.
  5. Because you obviously did it wrong. >_> Map size is linked in to the camera code in Origins. This is what allows us to have dynamic map sizes. If you change the screen size then you need to change the minimum map size in the source. You'll also need to change the size of all the existing maps to _at least_ match the new screen size. You can do this by editing each one manually through the properties dialogue or just deleting all your maps and letting the engine re-populate the flatfile set.
  6. It switches to the Basic theme when the program starts using too much video memory to support the Aero theme. If you screwed up the rendering code when changing the screen size then this will have caused it.
  7. @Azkanan: > If; > > a. I knew you. > b. You weren't new here. > > I would. > > Else, it looks like spam. :< He's not new. He's been registered here since '09 and was one of the earliest members of Mirage. He pre-dates Eclipse by many years and had a huge say in how Mirage (and through extension Eclipse) was formed.
  8. Doesn't ring a bell, but years of drug abuse has left my memory wanting. Ron is still around I believe, but I haven't been in contact. He still hosted the Mirage mirror up until recently. Nick is on MSN quite a bit. I think he's working for a software company now. Sean I haven't seen since we looked in to bringing Konfuze back with Liam. That'll have been a good 2 or 3 years back. James I haven't really seen since he bought out all the forums and closed them all. He did pop on to Crystalshire to say hi recently, though. William is on this forum, although fairly inactive. He's still running Key2Heaven. Shannara I haven't really talked to recently but he seems to be on GTalk all the time. Unreal I never talked to in the first place, so I have no clue. Same goes with Majin. Dave is still around. He's on this forum from time to time and is always on GTalk. Chase's little brother is pretty active (I think he's Chase's little brother… might be my memory playing up again). Not sure about where he is himself, though.
  9. It's awesome getting kids that young involved in things. I think you should keep it private, however. Releasing this kind of game as a legitimate project with it's own website seems… well, weird. I've dealt with tons of kids around that age and helped them develop video games through software like Gamemaker and the like. The projects are learning experiences. Not something which should be pushed out seriously. It's your choice, though.

Oh, they're pulling the "think of the children" card. I feel like I'm in an episode of the Simpsons.
  11. @Virtuousrob: > So you know how megaupload went down? :P It'd be nice if we could get the links of things that were on that site from eclipse members uploaded elsewhere so a lot of the links from this forum wouldn't be broken anymore. I mean I've run into a bunch of links in resources that led to mega… D: Switch the megaupload.com domain to their IP address. The files themselves are still intact.

    IPhone Game

Release it on Android. I'd definitely go out of my way to torrent it.
  13. @DrNova: > Ha! What a joke. Bite me, whoever warned me. I honestly dont care. Your "warning" means nothing to me, not on this particular issue. Bugger off Good. Warnings should mean absolutely nothing to you. They're simply that. A verbal warning. It's to warn you against breaking the rules in the future. This may lead to other disciplinary proceedings which aren't so pleasant. The fact that you were warned by that admin is probably a good sign you were breaking the rules, though. I've never even seen him warn anyone before.
  14. I have lots of things Anna made. :3
  15. @Jungle: > I don't want the US to have so much power as much as you do. I want us to be well protected, but there is a fine line between being protected and being an all out empire. Going into other countries and arresting people who obviously were good civilians is wrong and unjust. ![](http://i.imgur.com/Yc51r.jpg)
  16. Pretty much. Regardless of how much of a dick they are, America is still the world's largest super power. Everyone brown-noses them. I'm just waiting for when China owns the entire world now.
  17. Yes. Cache it in the function which sets a player's status. That way you're not doing intensive loops every… well, loop. If you can cache something then cache it. Cache everything. Caching is your friend.
  18. @Growlith1223: > no…If you use the map files on a smaller screen, it will crash the server or client, you need to find a converter then you can use the maps on a different screen. That's a very short-sighted approach to maps. The only reason this happens is because Origins wasn't designed to have dynamic screen sizes. It's very possible to edit the camera if you want to, though. Hell, look at Crystalshire. We have some people playing in 1920x1080 and some playing in 800x450.

  20. Is it repeatable and does the site actually pay out? You might as well just get a job if not.
