    Public Apology.

    > I think it really depends on what you came to the site for. Eclipse never really being good is your opinion. It was amazing for a long time for me and my friends. If you want a professional engine and a community that isnt friends go get Unity or one of the other million engines out there. Unity is not that good for 2D games. I still prefer to code from scratch than to use it. It's bloated. If you buy back the site, you gotta refund all the people who bought Gold. It's not gonna be that easy, man. It's a complicated situation, and Eclipse can never go back to just being for fun and a place for trolls to lounge. It's time for it to change into something better. You can't just kick Amish and JC out along with their engine.

You need to completely change your focus, even if Marsh buys it back it will not fix anything. Eclipse was never really that good. Robin is what made Eclipse somewhat decent for a short while, but Eclipse Origins is aging technology and what JC is coding is not much better. I only come for announcements. ;)
  3. I got both PC and console version. I just am busy with other stuff right now. I did play Diablo 3 original for like 300 hours, but expansion less than 30.
  4. Your name color is already different is it not? I don't know what else a player would need. Well, I guess I could add something handy in 1.3.0 for it like star chat icons. I think adding tags like that by the name are ugly.
  5. 7x Experience Event for Black Friday. I won't be having a Cyber Monday experience event though. Update [2.1](http://www.onlinegamecreation.com/topic/44-legends-of-arteix-update-21/).
  6. 10 Experience Event live on Legends of Arteix up until Thanksgiving on Thursday. I may be porting it to another engine not Eclipse Worlds in the future - no updates though unless the game grows. I am more occupied with SIlverdale/Nin Online.
  7. > The fact that they made a statement allowing it on Nicovideo should be a tell-tale sign to you that it's likely coming to the YouTube space as well, they aren't stupid. There _is_ a contest on Nicovideo starting December 1st, which is probably why it was announced now. Yeah, let's hope so. :)
  8. Nintendo would make way more money if they allowed Let's Plays and such of that nature in the YouTube space. I actually bought Mario Kart 8 after seeing someone play it. Now tell me about irony. The problem is that by taking videos off of YouTube harms their credibility with the fans and harms potential marketing/awareness they would of got from that video. Basically, Nintendo is an outdated company that lives by its old methods of protection, when it should fully exploit them to live longer rather than die than their characters would be stolen easily anyway. Don't get me wrong, Nintendo won't die that soon, but this could lead them to their demise if they push hard enough against it. But heck Sony has a bigger chance of collapsing as a company.
  9. Nintendo is still really bad about ownership laws. May lead to their downfall as a company, but best of wishes to them.
  10. It just means you can make media like videos circling around those characters, you can't just steal them. The difference between making videos vs. a video game, is that one is not a direct competition to Nintendo, and it is more so just a way to advertise for them.
  11. > Matt, on 15 Nov 2014 - 10:11 PM, said: > Might be a stupid question, as I'm not too experienced with all this, but wouldn't your internet speed factor in as well? The Internet speed does affect it, but not what will keep it bottlenecked. The server is not that well optimized and is not multi-threaded. You typically break a server up into parts like a server that only processes chat/etc. This server can be made to run 1000s of players, it is what we are planning on doing for Nin Online until we find the funds to recode it from scratch using a better language. We just are not convinced that .NET or C# will do the trick. It's an upgrade, but the upgrade is not that good and coding in C/C++ is also not very good for us for being low budget.
  12. Eclipse Origins can get 50-70 players without lag. This includes Eclipse Worlds. Eclipse Worlds may get a little more due to the optimization of packets.
  13. > A thank you isn't enough, you still need to add the licenses that came with all of these libraries. Better off just providing a URL to their website or page.
  14. I have been doing a lot of tests, that is why it is taking so long. I am hoping people are somewhat satisfied with 1.2.5, so I can start adding features again. After 1.3.0, I will make a game with the engine and showcase what it is capable of. That's the roadmap.
  15. 1.2.5 is just around the corner. I know I keep saying it, but I am releasing beta within the next 24 hours.
  16. > The only way to improve ads is to remove them. Also, clones still suck. If you feel that your game is better, and only inspired, then I'd change the thread title to reflect that it's inspired, and not a direct clone. As it stands, I think it's cheap and tacky, because it's a clone. I improved ads by making them show and work better. Ads are not that bad on this app. The game is an experiment, not a way for us to make cash. We're using the knowledge and experience from this game for other games we make on mobile. I am not the thread starter , so I cannot edit it.
  17. Update 5 Changes ------------- ? Reduced game lag. ? Fixed flickering of Ludei logo. ? Reduced loading lag. ? Fixed music and sound mute bugs. ? Fixed bugs with loading for first time launches. ? Increased sound of purchasing items from shop. ? Improved ads. ? Misc. changes and bug fixes.
  18. > Multithreading is not recommended with VB6 btw. i've already it before, all it does is cause some intense heat issues. Yeah. I don't plan on adding it in.
  19. I suggest using [VBAdvanced](http://vb.mvps.org/tools/vbAdvance/). It has compiler additions which allow you to use icons with more colors and the like. We already overcame all the major limits of VB6 except multi-threads for Nin.
  20. A 6x Experience Event is going this weekend. Come play. :)
  21. Instead of wasting your time adding security to your client, why not make it server-side logic? If you make a game completely server-sided it makes it really hard to hack, the less the programmer has, the less they are able to exploit.
  22. We're doing a 6x Experience Event for the next 24 hours.
  23. Make sure you are using the command prompt and not powershell. It should be in Windows 7.
  24. My community **[OGC](http://onlinegamecreation.com)** is offering temporarily a free way to get **[Eclipse Worlds Gold Edition](http://www.onlinegamecreation.com/index.php?/files/file/8-eclipse-worlds-gold-edition/)** , you just have to get to level **Reborn** **999 **on my game. You must register on the site to qualify. This membership is permanent and includes all updates for lifetime. If you have donated to my engine, this will allow you to get the new version which is only available via a payment after you have **Gold Membership** , so if you earn **Gold Membership** by doing this, you must donate $30 to qualify for the extended version, and if you do not you must have donated $50 total. [Update 2](http://www.onlinegamecreation.com/index.php?/topic/18-legends-of-arteix-update-2/) released still partially a work in progress.
  25. Speaking over hovering items in chat, I need to add this to Nin Online. You reminded me. There's so many little features like that, it is really a lot of work to add them all.
