I vote java for a few reasons 1)VB6 is not compatible with windows 7 2)Theres already a server for java 3)There are enough C++ engines out there, we need to help spread the word about a new language. 4).NET isn't multiplatform like Java or C++

@Godlord I meant that Developers could make more things like dynamic sigs etc. And I do now realise that SQL would not increase number of players that could be online.

I think people are taking this the wrong way. I'm thinking about having user data etc. on a MySQL server, sort of like vbGORE. I dont want to run the game from a site or anything.

You need to code it in the source. I would recommend writing a sadscript function for it, for future uses.

Might be possible with scripting, but not to my knowledge. 5)Pretty sure you already can if you made quests and they work.

If you were to change it to anything I recommend .PNG instead. But theres nothing wrond with BMP.
