Actually, the fact that the radiation will spread via air currents is quite realistic. Just take a simple thermodynamics course. However, as has already been stated before, the radiation you will receive, even if you're on the West Coast, is far less than you usually get from the sun. It seems that wherever you got most of this information failed to mention the radiation levels that the areas experience and then compare it to what an average person would get throughout his/her life. So, no. This cannot kill you unless you are within blast radius of the power plant. - Adulese EDIT: I should also mention that the winds in the Jet Stream NEVER reach speeds around 100-400 mph, which already makes me question your facts.
