  1. @Azure: > If you look at him for a bit he seems like a character from your book… only more deranged. The Ice Wizard is Count Man, the main character (whatever his name is) is Vlore and his steed merciolus, and the tart toter is Jack ;D EDIT: That girl is the king.
  2. @LegendWeaver: > Hehe…I love that. > > "_This cosmic dance of bursting decadence and withheld permissions twist all our arms collectively. But, if sweetness can win,and it can, then I will be here tomorrow to high five you yesterday, my friend. Peace_." It's like he actually took a sentence out of my Unreadable Book…
  3. 8pm EST, I'll be there and looking forward to it. For those who don't know, my dad's Livestream channel is pretty much the unofficial Eclipse Livestream movie hangout :)
  4. @Azure: > I am afraid to meet Stephen in person if we did an international thing, @_@ Stephan is actually one of the few people on the internet that I'd feel comfortable meeting IRL.
  5. I recall one of the ideas being that we have more than one, maybe for Europe, two or so for US, one for Australia? I live on the East Coast, most people I know from Eclipse live on the West Cost or in Central. And it can take days and a lot of money to traverse the US, depending on where you need to go. Not sure about the scale of Europe/Australia.
  6. @serena85: > because it is more stable and has more drivers. …LOLWHAT? Edit: I'll tell you what; grab an older computer with an esoteric network device, put windows on it, and try connecting it to the net with the default windows drivers. After getting frustrated that windows doesn't recognize your videocard/soundcard/network interface, put an Ubuntu liveCD in, and watch everything get detected and work. I've seen modules for almost everything under the sun with linux.
  7. I owned a legal copy of Windows Seven on a moderately expensive machine I have. I later replaced the OS with Ubuntu (no duel booting); there's some games I'm sure wont work on it (especially if it uses direct X *cough*eclipse*cough*), but the games I play eithre work under Wine or Dosbox, or have been released for Linux. I recently left Ubuntu after I concluded it was too slow for my needs (artificial life simulation, etc), so I switched to Gentoo – took several days to install, it's seriously not for the feint of heart. If I had to choose between Win7 or Ubuntu, I'd choose Ubuntu. If I _needed_ a Windows system though, I would go with Windows XP Professional SP3 and definitely not Win7. @Païn: > Win7\. Ubuntu is free, therefore not as good. I'm willing to bet that my duel-core Gentoo machine can out-perform a quad-core Win7 machine any day. I'm also willing to be that Gentoo box with LibreOffice can outperform your Windows Seven's Microsoft Word. As last time I checked, Ubuntu doesn't require 2 GiB of ram just to idle.
  8. @QWERTYUIoP: > It still sounds like a typical RPG to me, anyway. This. Like, it sounds like almost every generic MMORPG on the market today.
  9. It's one processor, with two cores. In a sense, it's two 2.0 GhZ processors working together, which means it can split the load of one program between the two 2GhZ processors. It doesn't mean it will perform as a 4GhZ processor. As for your card, you have almost 1GiB video memory, it seems, and if you're using Windows Vista or Windows 7, 1-2GiB of that ram is being used just to run the OS, so you really have about 1GiB of ram usable. As for the guy who sold this laptop to you, he scammed you if he told you it was for gaming; laptops, especially something like what you describe, won't do that well. Warning - while you were typing 3 new replies have been posted. You may wish to review your post.
  10. @Drake/Gwen: I completely agree with you. I'm a Christian, though I'm currently not going to any churches; currently using the Bible itself as a direct guide, not being proxied through a priest. If I want to look something up, I look it up myself… If anyone actually looked in Revelations, Daniel, or any of the other prophetic books in the Bible, they'd realize that this guy's timeline is a poorly thrown together mess, and doesn't line up with the Bible at all. As I said before, the math doesn't even add up, nor does his rationale.. @Jungletoe: > On top of that, animals aren't supposed to have souls, according to the Catholic Church and apparently the bible too xD "_I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh_" Technically, animals are flesh; just a thought. I wasn't raised Catholic – most of my family was -- they are a very good example of how far organized religion strays from the Bible, going as far as doing most things that the bible forbids.
  11. His numbers are all wrong, and his rationale behind it makes no sense whatsoever. I remember hearing about this years ago while flipping through his radio station. I dismissed it then, too. I almost feel sorry for the guy, spending his entire life savings on May 21st billboards (which is the only reason people outside Family Radio started going "huh?"). Tomorrow will be the second time he was wrong, considering he made this prediction before. You _know_ he'll ratify his stuff to say October everything will go down, then we'll have to put up with his BS all summer.
  12. Despite the aimless rants by Camping and his cult at the radio station, no it is not coming to an end tomorrow. Besides, the same book they say undoubtedly points to the date says "No mad will know the date" (or something like that).
  13. It crashed Firefox; worked in chrome eventually. I'm tempted to see how long it takes to install X.
  14. Damian's mp3 system doesn't loop?
  15. @edsantana: > if you dont have the time and your too lazy to learn advanced vb coding why bother ? > like you there are gazilions of people with the idea " oh shit im gona make a naruto mmo ! " > > it takes time and alot of good ideas, else your doomed to fail. Okay, maybe I should be more specific… Don't reply here unless you're interested in helping OP with his project.
  16. I remember the original twisted metal; I pwned with the Ice Cream Truck. Couldn't stand that other one they made, with the toy cars and stuff… Does this one have the ice cream truck?
  17. This topic has been moved to [Talent Centre](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php?board=5.0). http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php?topic=71938.0
  18. Am I the only one that's noticed that this is in the _Tutorials_ board? Anyway, enough replying to this about what engine he should use. Don't post unless it's related to joining his team.
  19. This has been brought up many times before. Eclipse uses Direct X, which doesn't work well in wine.
  20. I'll play it… Just no WASD or anything please.
  21. Line 22, missing semicolon.
  22. @Marsh: > Yea the unarmed would definitely be sweet but i guess basically any martial art would cover that. Can you pick and choose or do you have to do the course before it. Some courses have a prerequisite (like how the Rapier Progression requires the Introduction to Rapiers, etc.), but for the most part I can pick/choose. Everyone starts with the MTP 1.0 first, since it's like a foundation course. Unarmed will prove very useful for self-defense, and even with the dagger, you can do Rondel dagger techniques with a MagLite flashlight, or staff techniques with an umbrella xD
  23. @Marsh: > Nice, you planning on going through all the courses? I want to get my fundamentals down with the longsword, then I'm most likely going to venture into the dagger/unarmed, maybe staff, and finally Cut and Thrust then Rapier (which is my primary focus), in that rough order. So I'm less interested in taking the MTP1.1 or 2.2. If the chance were to ever come up though, I wouldn't mind getting into one of those other courses.
  24. Haven't been too active the past few days, as I'm going to Ohio this week for [ARMA's MTP 1.0](http://www.thearma.org/Courses.htm), so I won't be around too much.
