Quite possibly. I just used one of the preset textures with photoshop. My original intention was not rusty, but a couple people told me it looked like rust, so I just started calling it that. To me its just a random brown UI. But I do agree that the texture doesn't quite hit the 'rusty' tone that the title implies.

It was not a flame. The fact is, is that if youre just going to redo it later, then don't even worry about it right now. The GUI should be the last thing to worry about. First get the game mechanics down, maps, quests, etc.. Then you can worry about the GUI.

 So, I've pretty much given up my 'career' as a pixel artist, and have moved on now to doing game art with my tablet. I find that its much quicker, and something I enjoy a lot more. I don't think I'll be doing any more Iso anytime soon, but it was a lot of fun. I will take suggestions as to what I should draw next? I need to improve, lol

Something you need to work on is your hue shifting. I took a look at your colours close-up, and there does seem to be some slight hue shifting here and there, but seems unintentional. You may want to look into it, because as far as those weapons go, the line-art is pretty fantastic, but they could be better if you used some better colours.
