  1. Episode 4 of our weekly sneak has recently been released, go check it out [here](http://youtu.be/tB1rBH54AVo) and get a taste at how our environmental artist will be going about designing the world in which you will explore as a Monkey. Next week won't be about Banana Paradise though, but rather a look at what our web department has been working on. Please share the video, subscribe and include your thoughts/ideas! Also below you can see the full version of the teaser found inside the spoiler. We decided to leak this out as we've taken a new route with the YouTube background due to the soon to be forced new layout. ![](http://freemmorpgmaker.com/uploadfiles/2852870b7b0d25f11df52f14a8bdc378.jpg)
  2. > Brb playing Psithyroi, let me know when you have a client out and I'll switch. > > Sarcasm aside :3 > > It looks tad promising, please don't ditch this. I'd like to see what may come of it. Hope you're enjoying the lovely updates we're making for Psithyroi ![:)](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons//smile.png) Sarcasm aside ![;)](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons//wink.png) We never ditched Psithyroi. Though yes, Banana Paradise wont be placed on hold as Psithyroi is.
  3. Anyhow, going back on topic. Those of you who might be lazy to click on the links and skim through provided information; our current question we're asking for viewers ( If you watch weekly sneak episode 2 ) to help us decide on is whether you'd prefer playing the game with a drawn or pixelated style. We are also offering the option of having both to please either side if that should get the most amount of votes. Below is a preview of both unanimated. ![](http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2013/114/4/d/drawn_monkey_by_jumpbuttonstudio-d62ww30.png) or ![](http://freemmorpgmaker.com/uploadfiles/98fb150952938d1451611ed0141070fb.png) There is the both option also. Ignore the size difference as it's fixed in the game.
  4. The video will tell you what we need feedbacks on.Take the time to watch the sneaks and you'll know what to provide a feedback on. I am not just pitching those links for the hell of it; they are filled with things you can give feedbacks and comments on. When new things come up, I will properly make a post in here. Everything we've already released, you can check them out on those links. I have other things to do and re-posting information that has already been released about our project will be a bit of a time consumer when it can easily be read/watched on provided links.
  5. > If you sincerely wanted feedback from this community you would have given something to provide feedback for aside from giving nothing but a long-winded explanation as to why your previous projects failed (which works against you). In other words, you need to do more than just pitch your Facebook page and Youtube channel. Hey bud, read the quote below and actually watch the sneaks before making your replies. > Please visit our channel and watch our weekly sneaks, a total of currently three episodes which should give you an idea of what our project is about. If you have any questions, feel free to ask in here and I will answer them when possible.
  6. Haha Rpny let him assume what he wants. Bud, if you've got nothing better to say in this thread please stay out. If we needed free advertisements, I have a list filled with better places and connections to people. We are only here to share our project and get some feedback from this community as well.
  7. ![](http://freemmorpgmaker.com/uploadfiles/5ac923877099ef13b64618a8e929e700.png) **Presents** ![](http://freemmorpgmaker.com/uploadfiles/eb2a0d0954176f02e60291c3f71e28f1.png) Welcome to our official TOD thread for Jumpbutton Studio's current project, Banana Paradise. Banana Paradise was not the first project we worked on. In the beginning, there was another, but the fact that JBS is run completely by volunteer developers, we had to put our original project on indefinite hold. Many of our original developers fell away from the family in favour of more profitable ventures or solely because they lacked dedication to the team. At that point, we no longer had the assets to complete our original project. Those of us who were dedicated to the team and our goals decided to start small and work on more manageable projects. We started by taking a barely formed tangent idea from our original project…A monkey who wanted to protect his most prized possession: an ENORMOUS banana. Through much debating, and a little unintentional innuendo, the name Banana Paradise emerged, and this side-scrolling defense game we're currently working on was born. At the time, the entire game was designed solely for smartphones, consisting only of a lone, nameless monkey protecting a large banana from slugs emerging from either side of the screen. However, as we inducted more willing developers into the Jumpbutton family, we developed much bigger plans for our creation than stomping slugs. In fact, we had five other ideas! The three most formed of these ideas were a side-scrolling, banana-wielding hack-and-slash monkey adventure, a banana-finding monkey hide and seek game, a Jetpack Joyride inspired monkey flying simulator and a ninja-monkey wall-jumping agility-heavy monkey parkour sidescroller. Many of these ideas are still in their infancy, and may not even be implemented into the game. This is where you all come in! **How can you help?** We are currently trying to get our project known and gather feedbacks and opinions on our development in order to create a game not only we ourselves would enjoy playing non-stop, but a game that many others would love to play. You can support us by liking our [page](https://www.facebook.com/pages/Jumpbutton-Studio/184204351650536), subscribing to our [channel](http://www.youtube.com/user/JumpButtonStudios), watching us on [IndieDB](http://www.indiedb.com/company/jumpbutton-studio), taking part in community questions which will be featured in our sneaks (our first question was featured in episode 2 of the weekly sneak, it isn't too late to include your voice!) and lastly by sharing what you see on our page. The bigger the support, the higher our motivation in getting Banana Paradise and more 'secret' information released. Please visit our channel and watch our weekly sneaks, a total of currently three episodes which should give you an idea of what our project is about. If you have any questions, feel free to ask in here and I will answer them when possible. * * * Here is a little inside look at what we are currently working on. >! ![](https://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn1/524775_473583612712607_1291732811_n.png) >! 8. This is.. interesting..
  9. We recommended togekite for anyone interested in getting a track done for their project/game, especially when he's offering it for free.
  10. > Who made that long banner? I like it alot. The characters on the banner are cartoon versions of a real-life version of developers within Jumpbutton Studio drawn by Sakura and the banner itself was designed by our lead graphics artist Kevin. Although we got the Developer & Publisher part from IndieDB. **On another note..** We would like to give a warm welcome to our new developers that joined the Jumpbutton family. Aaron - Web Department Nick V (Redbeard) - Sound Department lead Pikablu (blu) - Software department & PC Department Pete Renton - Music Department Lycrios - Web Department lead With this all positions as stated aside from an Environmental & Pixel artist are closed. In any case, we will now be getting back on track with our projects.
  11. All applications but pixel & illustrations/environmental/character artist are now closed. Thank you to all those who applied as we received truly talented applicants. We will now work towards organizing those who we've selected to join our indie family.
  12. [![](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/files/imagehost/pics/161794dda20c51b130357da481cea4c5.png)](http://jumpbuttonstudio.tumblr.com) Hello once again, Eclipse community. We are slowly coming back from the shadows, but are in need of a few more dedicated and serious developers to aid us and join our small family. A while back when we went by the title Indie Opportunity and were working on the Psithyroi project, we realized that working on such a huge MMORPG as the one we had planned was far too much for a first project, especially when we had no funds to put towards its completion. We came upon the decision to start small and slowly build our way up, which lead to both good and bad outcomes. We have been through quite a lot and are prepared to take on the bigger challenges that await us in our journey to becoming a good Indie gaming company. We are posting here on eclipse and will be recruiting from a few other communities in hopes that we can find more talented developers wanting to be a part of something worthwhile. Each of us develops voluntarily from our passion for gaming and the vision we have in becoming a successful team. **Departments** We will be splitting our team in different departments depending on the amount of applications we accept and the amount of talent each staff member has. Currently there are four active developers, not including the two new additions we will be adding. Due to the team still being very small, departments were not necessary. I hope this will change soon as it would allow development to go a lot smoother. Each department will have an assigned Leader that we will entrust to keep his/her team on task and active during group conversations. All applications should be sent to [[email protected]]([email protected]) with an attached file showcasing their work. There is no format, we ask that you either send a resume or link to your portfolio along with some information about yourself. _Manager_ Just to make things clear in case most of you wonder what my role is on the team aside from making a ridiculously long topic. I hold the title as Manager for Jumpbutton Studio as well as Community Manager. Although I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the previous founders Cameron, Michael and Kevin. Cameron and Michael are no longer on the team but will always be considered a member of Jumpbutton Studio. I later decided to take on the responsibility of managing the group and re-organizing it as much as I possibly could. My grammar definitely is not the greatest, but as manager I must keep every department on task, know just about every important details there is to know on all of our projects, manage our social networks & announcement releases. I also work with the Game designers sometimes. _Web Department_ This department will consist of web designers and programmers. Currently there are only two members in this department who are still in the joining process. We are looking for any web designers and programmers with great knowledge of PHP, HTML (5), CSS, and any other web related language. You will be required to help maintain all websites, forums, blogs, and must be able to add in new features as they are needed. It would be a plus if you’re familiar with many of the social network APs. _Current members:_ * _Aaron_ * _Lycrios - Dept Lead_ _Software Department_ This department will consist of a variety of different talents ranging from icon designers to C++ programmers. The team will need tools to help them develop and we will be depending on those in the software department to accomplish the task of creating the required tools for development. This department will work along with other departments to insure tools are getting developed correctly. It does not really matter what language you know as long as you have what it takes to develop the requested tools. Current Members * Pikablu _Mobile Department_ This department will be in charge of developing all mobile games and applications. It is required that you have a strong knowledge in Java, OOP, Objective-C, C++, or any other languages that can be ported over to mobile platforms. You will be working alongside one of our lead programmers Sk8 (Ace). Current Members * Ace - Dept Lead _PC Department_ This department will be in charge of developing all pc games and applications ranging from flash games to co-op based games. It is required that you have a strong knowledge in Flash, HTML5, Java, Silverlight, C# and C++.If there is a language you understand very well but is not on this list, please still feel free to send in your application. You will be working alongside another of our lead programmers Mb in this department. * Mb - Dept Lead * Pikablu _Sound Department_ All of our game related developments will require sound effects and this department will be in charge of getting this done. The only requirement is that you know how to create amazing sound effects that isn’t downloaded from the internet. Current Members * Calum * RedBear - Dept Lead _Music Department_ Just as all our games will require sound effects, they will also need rich music to better our game environments. The only requirement is that you know how to compose all sorts of music and can be creative. You will be working alongside our lead composer Clark (Togekite) in completing requested compositions. Current Members * Clark - Dept Lead * Pete Renton _Art Department_ These guys are the ones in charge of taking a concept from paper and bringing it to life. Everyone in this department will range from Illustrators to pixel artist. You can apply for the following art positions; _**Environmental artist** –_ You will be expected to design game environments ranging from backgrounds to drawn tiles and objects. A chibi/anime like style is heavily recommended but also required that you have more than one drawing style. _**Animator** -_ You will be expected to have the ability to animate pixels and other game assets. _**Character artist** -_You will be expected to design and create character drawings for web templates, game characters, staff avatar, and any other art related tasks. It is required that you have more than one drawing style. _**Concept artist** -_ You will be expected to sketch out new environments and designs to be previewed by the entire team for game projects. It is required that you can take criticism and make changes as seen fit. _**Pixel artist** –_ You will be expected to create 2d, 2.5d, and sometimes 3d characters, objects, and asset pixels for game projects. You must have a variety of different styles and if possible a good knowledge on animating what you pixel. Current Members * Kevin – Lead Pixel artist * Vixxie – Pixel artist * Rayzerno – Icon concept artist * Fadwa – Environmental artist * Sakurakur – Contributor/Previous full time developer * Kachima – Character artist (Away) * Manda - Icon artist (Away) * Stava - Contributor * Available - Pixel Artist * Available - Environmental _Game Design Department_ This is the last of our departments. This department will consist of writers, designers and planners. Everyone in this department will be in charge of planning, designing a game concept, developing game mechanism, and developing stories that will add more to a game. It is required that you have good vocabulary and grammar. Everyone on the team takes part in this department, but below are the main designers. Current Members * Mb * Vixxie * Kevin * Akatsuki Above are the listed departments and everywhere you see “Available” indicates there is still an opened position. We only ask those who are serious and willing to develop voluntarily until we reach a point where we can compensate all staff members. _Current Projects_ [![](http://media.indiedb.com/images/global/indiedb.png)](http://www.indiedb.com/games/banana-paradise) Banana Paradise – Currently In development (IndieDB page still requires more information/work though you will find three progression screenshots available. TBA – after the release of Banana Paradise TBD – after the release of Banana Paradise Anyone with questions towards what became of Psithyroi Online or what plans we have for it, rest assured that project is not dead nor is it in development at the current moment. We have a different plan for Psithyroi as it will be our only major MMORPG we develop. We won’t be talking about Psithyroi anytime soon though. We hope to get a few good applications before the month is over. If you should have any question please feel free to ask in this thread unless you would like to keep it private then we can be reached at [[email protected]]([email protected]) or you may send me a private message. **_*Keep in mind that we will only be accepting around 5-10 new developers if we are to receive a lot of applications. Skype is a requirement for communication._**
  13. > Can't we see a video of the gameplay, use Fraps, it has a shareware version for 30 second videos ![;)](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons//wink.png) Just to see where it stands. Sure. I'll get in touch with the programmer and see if we can get a quick video this week showcasing the currently unstable version. Though you'll be seeing exactly what was shown in the images; only with more then one person walking about.
  14. > No I'm pretty sure he just lied about anything significant being done because they can't have networking without a server ![:P](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons//tongue.png) > How do you have networking done without a server? Networking is a client/server process. Read below > Though the project was placed on hold right in the middle of the server development. Read carefully next time please. The server is there, and we've tested it using one of the programmers local networks. There's this thing called portforwarding which allowed us to connect to this local network and play the game. No one said there wasn't a server; I said a server is required to run the game. In other words, the server is no longer being hosted and was not fully completed. So we couldn't release something as proof because the server wouldn't have been stable enough until tested thoroughly. We'd rather release a game when its properly ready then something that we ourselves don't feel comfortable playing on because the server isn't as stable we'd like it to be. Please stop trying to find ways to mislead people reading this topic. It is getting very annoying and we have much more interesting things to do then explain things to someone who obviously thinks he knows what we've completed on this project. Edit: @Ertzel I was typing this before you posted ![:P](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons//tongue.png) though to correct the little detail, the project has not been continued as of yet.
  15. Alright, I don't want to go into details about the game because it's on hold and there isn't a need for me to go as far as to explain its current stage. I am not one of the programmers and wouldn't be able to give you the "Detailed" information you're asking for, so i'll just give as much information as I am able to at this point. I currently have my hands full with the changes I am making concerning our team and answering questions i've already answered before over and over gets to an annoying point. Networking is done, movement is done. Since networking has been completed, a server is required for the game to run. Though the project was placed on hold right in the middle of the server development. Below you will find images of me walking around and jumping in-game. Ignore the missing head, as that was done because we'll be animating the head to do a few things when the player hasn't moved for a while or when doing an emote; and we didn't want to always have to make a complete sprite with different facial animation/movements. I seem aggravated in my replies because of the sarcasm. Right now the team and I are working towards something different and hopefully more entertaining. We also have real life to worry about as well as college for most. Psithyroi is only on hold for the moment, and there's no telling how long but it will be back. [![](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/files/imagehost/pics/e31d74d5147e2d9d9b5ba1876a561b8f.png)](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/files/imagehost/#e31d74d5147e2d9d9b5ba1876a561b8f.png) [![](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/files/imagehost/pics/5d523ed2aa6021136c0c13e7c81abb94.png)](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/files/imagehost/#5d523ed2aa6021136c0c13e7c81abb94.png) [![](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/files/imagehost/pics/9a2235fc63b83bbcf4e5644fc2682fb4.png)](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/files/imagehost/#9a2235fc63b83bbcf4e5644fc2682fb4.png)
  16. You did quite the job Clark ![:o](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons//ohmy.png)
  17. > Why should we have to ask around, to find out details of your game? > > You should, as an obvious standard, post links, videos, images, etc, yourself, not expect us to do so, otherwise, what's the point of showcasing your game? >_> Didn't save link and don't wnat to upload the image again. I've already stated its been done, yet many of you continue to ask about it so why not have you ask another member that's already seen it for verification. > My, it's taken almost a year and a half just to showcase a menu? o_o What? the first post has a menu showcased lol. Maybe im misunderstanding what you're saying, so please do explain what you're talking about if I am. > No, of course it hasn't. They were ready for beta months ago. /sarcasmx2 Haha, we only stated beta was close by but then informed everyone it had been delayed. Quit with your sarcasm. Please don't start anything in this topic. We've said what we had to, now let the topic rest in peace until development has restarted. Right now the team and I are all making changes as well as many of them having to deal with college.
  18. @Sekaru Any questions regarding the client/server or anything regarding proof that there was work done, you can ask Seal and any others who saw the images in shoutbox.
  19. It's been awhile since we've posted anything in here, so i'll just show one of the completed NPC drawings. ![](http://th01.deviantart.net/fs70/PRE/i/2012/256/2/e/5_by_kachima-d5ek358.png) Psithyroi at this point is on hold. Keep an eye out though ![:P](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons//tongue.png) _**No one may use this and any other resource posted on this topic without proper approval.**_
  20. @daxterxx: > ![](http://i0.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/original/000/000/554/facepalm.jpg) > > NO ONE!!!! will work for free and give you the kind of results you are asking for. > > [WARNED] Actually, this isn't accurate.
  21. @Lenn: > Then…post it? > > From what I've seen, there's nothing to actually show there is a program that exists. We'd like to leave it at that then :) believe what you will, but when we're ready to show a progress video we will.
  22. @Lenn: > So…in the year that this has been up...has there actually been a post with actual proof of an engine update, or has it just been mockup after mockup? I could actually put a video of me walking around in-game and the project is a year old, but was restarted about three months ago.
  23. @Aáron: > Then show us why you changed the graphics. Ahaha you'll see when its time and the same to you Kreator :P
  24. The name Psithyroi was previously changed due to a stupid reason. Though on topic about the old sprites giving us originality.. it seems many didn't end up comparing the old sprites to terraria, as that is where those sprites were inspired from. Sure you may get turned of due to the new sprites resembling maple story, though you haven't any idea as to what we have planned that required such a drastic graphics improvement. As for where we are engine related, I can't release much details as that is the job of the programmers but, we can safely say we're slowly entering alpha stages as summer goes by. Though with this school year, I can see a huge slow down in development.
  25. As much as we all enjoyed the old sprite, it became necessary to change it in order to open a path to everything we had planned for Psithyroi. Hopefully after playing through beta once its out you'll have a different view about the sprites. Though people may always end up comparing the sprites to that of maple story. As for the old sprites.. can't say much at the moment :P but you may be seeing it in a different game we develop after Psithyroi ;) Also all our websites are down. We will be bringing them back the closer we get to releasing a beta. If you would like to follow us through social networks, we do have a Facebook page, twitter, and dA.
