  2. Piano, saxophones, ocarina, flute, bassoon, french horn, guitar, clarinet. Able to play all of those, they are in order of most proficient to least.
  3. I use emacs. That is really all I should have to say.
  4. @мсичġġєт: > I em vury uld I am fort33n Wow, you wrecked it.
  5. @Jungletoeâ„¢: > I don't believe some of you… Do u beleve me? Im rly 12! y does every1 think im 9? :(
  6. 12. Robin is a pedophile. But you knew that already.
  7. Make a git repo on www.github.com. Do it! I will heart you forever.

    PNG or Jpg?

@Zоmbie: > >>a RPG engine it in Javascript/Ajax > looool. I think the comment about Eclipse in WebGL a year ago is even better.
  9. Cheating on my fiancée Robin – though is it cheating if he knows and doesn't care? I love you Robin.
  10. I only need two. Wire hangers and a pregnancy test.
  11. In the world of programming, 18 isn't _that_ young.
  12. @Ambard: > I may be very intrested in your services Emily. Either to fix our existing server and client or to get Robins WN engine where I really want it. > > Will your offer stand till after the 1st? Yes, I'll probably taking jobs at least through the end of January.
  13. @Robin: > I'm just slightly more than that. Did my first when I was 9. Awwww, Robin feels like he has to compete. So cute!
  14. I've been programming since I was 10\. Also, if you're actually considering hiring me for that many hours, I'd be willing to go to more of a list of features per a price model. Like $500 for blah, blah, blah, etc… . This'd be perhaps somewhat based on estimated time, but also a little discounted. Sort of a... bulk discount? I think once it gets over the 20 hour mark (~$160), I'd be much more flexible about the per hour cost, and switch to more of an agreed upon price (likely based on estimated time) rather than actual time. Also, I've got a lot of free time (aka, time to program stuff) the next few months, as I'm taking a term off from school (compsci/psychology double major and premed gets pretty intense).
  15. I dunno, in 65ish hours of work I probably could write an entire engine. I sound really nerdy now I think.
  16. @Robin: > @Sandshrew: > > > oh my god I know right, if she's better than robin then shes the best here. > > General programming != Eclipse programming. > > About 80% of programming stuff for Eclipse is knowing the source code and how the systems work. And if you're good at general programming, it's easy to pick that up fast, as Eclipse isn't /that/ complicated in the scheme of things.
  17. It's not 8 hours from when it's ordered, but rather 8 hours of work spread out over a day or two.
  18. @JS1: > Who said anything about 3 days? > > -JS1 $500/($8/hr) = 62.5 hours 62.5 hours is almost 3 days. But if you're serious about it, PM me> Depending on what exactly you want, I'd be willing to consider it.
  19. Probably round to the nearest half hour (or maybe quarter hour) – basically just the nearest dollar I guess. Also probably a minimum charge of $4 if its less than 30 minutes, as otherwise paypal fees just end up eating the bulk of the payment. Also, I suppose if I'm really uncertain about a time estimate, I might also add in a cost-cap like, "I won't charge for more than X hours if it gets to that point."
  20. Basically, I'll program custom features (or perhaps even debugging, though that pricing may end up being different) for you, in more or less any engine. The way I'll do pricing (with perhaps a few exceptions is this): 1\. You describe in detail what you want. If your description was not clear enough and I programmed something else, that's your problem not mine. However, I will ask if I think a description is unclear. 2\. I give you an estimate of how many hours I think it'll take. The price is calculated by: Price (USD) = (Hours up to Estimate)*8 + (Hours Over Estimate) * 4 //The "4" might be moved up or down based on how certain I am of my estimate. 3\. You decide whether or not you want the feature, or perhaps haggle a tiny bit on price. 4\. I code the feature in a VM that I've set up to automatically pause if I'm not active in it – this way the timer pauses and you don't end up paying me to chat with friends or something. 5\. I show you the working feature over Skype desktop sharing. 6\. You send money, I send code. So basically, if I estimate 8 hours, the estimated cost is then $64\. Lets pretend I'm pretty certain that I can do it in 8 hours or less, so I set the "extra hours" fee at $2\. If I take 6 hours, you pay $48\. If I take 8 hours, you pay $64\. If I take 10 hours? You pay $68\. Remember, I have lots of code that I end up reusing, so often times things that might seem like should take a lot of hours, will end up having short estimates. Languages I'll take jobs in: VB6, VB.Net, C#.Net, PHP, Ruby (Rails), Python, and maybe Java depending on what it is. As far as "endorsements" go, all I need are Robin's sexy words: @Robin: > Emily is actually a fantastic programmer who develops the software which the Dwarf Fortress wiki is going to be run off, as well as hosts it. Oh, and she's been helping me with my little games for many, many years now. > > Hell, both Emily and Jake are much better than me.
  21. I don't experience that when I eat them, and I eat quite a lot of them when I do.
  22. @Stephan: > @Emily: > > > Also, as far as the movement engine, I can't tell if you actually wrote it or not based on your comments, but I feel this is still something I should say: trigonometric functions are neat (I mean, the logic to move a sprite in the way the applet is currently is almost MORE complicated than using trig functions. That's kind of sad imo.) > > > > By the way, it's totally on now, my java graphics setup _will_ be faster. > > You use slow trigonometric functions that use these long Taylor sequences? I hope you use pre-generated tables then, that or quaternions through SIMD. > > Regards, > Stephan. Pre-generated tables for the values I need is probably what I would do – I don't find myself using trig that often, but I just really hate when games do fakey diagonal (go to mouse position) movement.
