My map of Europe

Hey guys. Just here to show off the map of Europe I'm drawing up for my game, The Ancients.

I began by taking screenshots of google maps, then stitched them together. From there, 2px brush the outline of waters…

(Apparently Eclipse doesn't support puush-hosted images, so eh, here are links).

You can see a full-size image [**here**](http://puu.sh/1eOEA).

I intend to eventually include biomes (ie, satellite-like pictures, showing deserts and mountains).

Alternatively, I might art-attack it.

> Is it finished in terms of scope? That is, are you going to cover any extra areas, because that isn't _all_ of Europe…

Well, for the Ancients, it's first set in Italy, so the game's world map will be focused around that area. As we make expansions to the world locations, the world map will extend. Likely into Gaul first, then Hispania and Eastern Europe, finalising in Brittania. Althernatively at some point, we may bring in the land of Carthage, Nubia, etc.

> Nice job following line art. Not that editing the screen caps would give the same effect in less time.

Thanks. With my way, it may take longer, but it's much more… personal. When we release it, it will now be the only map version of that area in the entire gaming industry. It's very small and suck-my-stick-ish, but it's a lovely personal sentiment. I get to learn the land as I roam around, too!

This is an example as to how the player would choose what areas he wishes to play in.

The areas are geographically, culturally and so forth correct, but otherwise generated each time. The player is able to change settings to effect what is or is not in the world - such as villages and "Actors" (NPCs).
