Xolani
My system setup is the same (windows 7 64 bit) and I have also been getting this error with some versions of eclipse. After the server starts up fine I run the client and have been getting an error that says "can't start because dx8vb.dll is missing".I've heard that some versions of eclipse run partially off of direct x 8 but I have also heard that dx8 is unavailable for windows 7 64 bit.Hmm, hoping I can resolve this issue in windows 7, or I may have to install windows xp aswell. Growlith1223
In the install directory, was it System32 or SysWOW64?Make sure it was installed in the CORRECT directory. also if you have vb6, try to see if the dll was added as a reference, if not, try searching for it. Xolani
Growlith my default for storing the library files is System32, should I switch to SysWOW6?Also do I need to download a complete copy of vb6 as well?If it helps I'm trying to run Eclipse Mega, but I think it's install should be the same as EA. Growlith1223
If you're on a 64-bit OS, you need to install it in SysWOW64.If you're on a 32-bit OS, you need to install it in System32.well unless you don't plan on coding anything, ur gonna need vb6 x3Using a certain engine has no help lolThe files should be registered when they are in the correct spot. I don't remember if the installer registers them or not.
