Make nicer looking buttons
Probably a textured background and a title of your game would look good.

Nice backround image, how did you make it? the buttons need some help though. If you fixed the buttons i would ask permision if i could use that in my game. Wow, i like it. The backround needs more clarity though. kindof fuzzy.

Background image is distracting, horribly pixelated and corrupted.

The small boxes are huge, irregular and the entire thing just screams at me 'I can't be arsed putting effort in to my game'.

The menu GUI is one of the first things people see in your game. First impressions make a huge difference.

My thoughts exactly, as well as:

News area needs some sort of 'distinctness' ie, an outline. You need to add a title to your game also. Possibly even an outline around the whole thing.

This is absolutely horrible due to the stretched background and weird white outline buttons. I would give you more advice, but there's hardly anything you can do to improve something of this quality.

of course there is, change the whole thing, no lol jks, umm, it looks like u took that background image off of google and stretched it out to 800x600 size, custom buttons would be nice to, try using photoshop or pain.net, really good art programs
