igloo9
I know you can make Eclipse games commercial if you add custom graphics, music, etc. But is there more to it than that? Do you need a custom hud/gui? And I'm not saying with a different background pic and that's it. Do the buttons and chatbox actually have to be in a different order, or re-arranged or something? What about even smaller things? How custom does it have to be other than graphics, music, etc.? Irhymer
I just know your game will have to be the BOMB!!! if you want someone to buy it. :)
igloo9
I forgot one - spell animations and spell sound effects. do you have to make those custom too?
Anna Comnena
I believe the GUI is free use. The Spell animations, I'm not sure of. But the sprites and tiles have to be custom made, because they are RMXP graphics originally. You don't have to arrange anything GUI layout wise or anything like that. Main thing is make sure the media files, like music, sounds, graphics, are custom, because then you know that they are free to use.
Keebler Elf
If you plan to make money with you game then most of the things will be custom. Otherwise it would not be a very fun game.
DJMaxus
I believe, in order to make an Eclipse game commercial, you must make the game appear as if it isn't, well, Eclipse. (No "cookie cutters") Also note that a serious game with Eclipse should take more than just a few days. XD
azkanan
1\. Replace all resources with custom-made.2\. Replace/edit about 99.99% of the scripts.3\. Distort the Source beyond recognition.4\. Spend about a year in making the game.Follow these, and you might be able to sell the game.
igloo9
Is number 2 and 3 "needed" to be able to make it commercial legally? Or is that just to make it sell better?
Drag0n
Yeah. WoH might become good- They edited the engine, tiles, sprites, scripts, GUI, source, EVERYTHING.
Doomsalad
Yeah. If you make everything custom, itll probably sell better too. Though i doubt an eclipse game could be good enough to actually make a steady income (though it would be possible).
igloo9
Yeah, but is it still legal to make money off of it if you don't edit the source or scripts? I know the game wouldn't sell as good, but I'm just asking…
flyingcamels
wait, can u not like to PtP but allow players to buy cash items? for example, a game like maplestory. You don't pay to play, but you can but optional cash items. does all these things still apply? if not, then what applies?

Though, you cant decide how much they have to donate
