I also plan to have at least 300 maps or more, give or take a few for my game, so I personally don't see what's wrong with having 1,000+ maps, however, I do foresee that with a large amount of maps, chances are, there will be some maps that seem to be nearly identical or repetitive of other maps in the game, and so they wouldn't really be new and exciting, which may be something to consider when creating your maps. Well, it is, but it's not an unreachable number. I'm pretty sure Seven Nations was getting close to a thousand when that game died, and the continent exterior was only half done. Keebler Elf Posted February 12, 2009 Share Posted February 12, 2009 It also depends wether they are scrolling maps or not. Because map size will dramatically change the loading. If you have 4000 maps all just the 32 x 32 they will load fast. If you have 4000 scrolling maps tho thats liek haveing almost 8000 non scrolling. If you get what i mean.
