I am using windows xp,it takes up alot of space, and its slow.
Linux says it only takes 4mb of ram,and not even a gig on the hdd.
Should I move to Linux,or stay with Windows XP?
I read the Linux sit,I just want to know if anyone here uses it,and what they think?
Allso if you could provide a link to one that I can test without uninstalling windows,
That would be cool.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Kernel or some distribution?

Linux Ubuntu uses like 384MB RAM, probably even more.

Google: Linux Ubuntu (CD/DVD you can boot from), Linux Knoppix (CD you can boot from, probably a DVD too), etc.

There was a test to see which Linux fits most with you but I lost the link.

  Xenonyte.

um, there is no full build of damn small linux. You can save in it, but all of the builds load to RAM.

TO actually answer his question. Eclipse will only run if you use WinE (a windows emulator for linux). Also what distro are you using?

I found Eclipse a pig to set up with Wine in Ubuntu…

EDIT: Distribution. Just what linux you are using. Ubuntu, Red Hat...

Well you said Linux is awesome, have you ever even used it? Its not very beginner friendly and Eclipse 2.7 DOES NOT have native support. Also, no Linux distrobutions I know of will be lower than XP reqs without being so stripped down in style like Damn Small Linux. Youll also need WinE to run any Windows applications. Most of them wont even work.

Linux is for people who want to run/develop linux applications. Not for Windows users wanting to be "different".

Distro stands for Distribution.

There are thousands of different types of linux.  Here:
http://distrowatch.com/

Everyone has a different version of linux.

Also, here a quiz you can take to find out which distro is right for you:
