Okay, I found these tiles:

Here is the tiles:

The white parts of the tiles don't become transparent when I put them on Mask Layer.

i dont see anything bad with the blood. But if you want to fix just make the black to red (the same red the other part of the blood has so it will fit).

You have to make sure the very first pixel is the background color, don't you?

OH i get it.
this is an easy thing to fix.
first you have to select the magic wand tool.
then look up top and you should see a bar thats talkign about percentage of how strong the Magic wand is.
lower it down to like 25% and then select the white. it should only select that color and nothing of the tiles.

Was that file ever a jpeg?
Anyway, set the entire background to like, light blue, then set the first tile light blue also; see if it's transparent

make sure the top left square is the same exact color of the rest of the white. if you are in paint, just use the color selector and use paint bucket.

Problem with the smudges is that they need png because they need to be semi-transparent, except for those on the furniture ofcourse.
