Admiral Refuge
The IP that the other players need to connect to, has to be your public IP (the one at ipchicken.com)Though, you will have to port forward; check the Tutorials board, there are some very good tutorials on getting your game online. Admiral Refuge
When you port forward, there are two IPs you need to take into consideration. When you're in the router, you use your local IP that starts with "192."When you give the client out to your friends, you use the IP that's at ipchicken.comIf you're not having much luck port forwarding, there's always Hamachi, until you can get a dedicated server. Click on OK, now you'll see a black window with a gray cursor blinking, this is the command prompt, now type "ipconfig" and press enter. Look up your IP-address for your connection, it usually looks similar to your standard gateway, which is the IP-address of your router, but usually ends with another number instead. The incoming/outgoing port should be the port you want to open. If you have two textboxes instead for each of one, if incoming and outgoing aren't the same on your router, with a hyphen in between then you're allowed to open a range being the first box the begin port and the second the end port, if you only want to open the port you want then type that number in all the textboxes. The port protocol should be TCP or TCP/UDP. Any other protocols are allowed as long as TCP is mentioned or unless you've a selection option called "Any protocol".Your public IP-address is the one mentioned on www.ipchicken.com. Other users not being in your network (not sharing the same router as you) should use this IP-address to connect to you. You usually must use 127.0.0.1 (loopback IP-address) or your LAN IP if your server is on the same computer, some routers although support you using the public IP. However I highly recommend to use the loopback IP on your computer if you're hosting the server on that computer for performance reasons. If you're connecting on a computer not hosting the server but being connected to the same router then use your LAN IP to connect, the public IP might also work on some routers, but again I highly recommend you to use the LAN IP in this case, again for performance issues. The loopback IP doesn't work because it loops back to the same computer. This should be enough information to get everything set up properly, if not use no-ip.org or Hamachi.Regards, Godlord.
