Necronomicon Spellbook?

I've been watching a Let's Play of Call of Cthulhu for a couple days now. I was intrigued by the fact there was a story with the same name. After doing some research I found out about this book called the Necronomiocon. While that book is about $100, the Necronomicon Spellbook(by the same author) is only $8\. After reading some reviews I am thoroughly spooked. I want to buy this book but I'm just a tad superstitious, if any of you could convince my my fear is severely misplaced, I really want to read this book. While I'm not satanic, I do enjoy a good horror story.

PS Please don't turn this thread into a "emo/devil flame thread".

Lovecraft is a great writer. If you like Edgar Allen Poe, this guy's right up there with him, except with a more bizarre twist. I've read a collection of his works and loved all of them.

However, this Necronomicon Spellbook doesn't look like a story, if you ask me. Sounds like an occult text, assuming you mean this: http://www.amazon.com/Necronomicon-Spellbook-Simon/dp/0380731126
