chuchoide
Hello, I am developing a game but badly, I don't know how to use the layer system. I mean, for what is:Mask LayerAnimation LayerMask 2 LayerAnimation 2 LayerFringe LayerAnimation 3 LayerFringe 2 LayerAnimation 4 LayerThanks :)
Saito00
The main thing is that one tile layer is above another, like flower tile is above grass tile. Mask layers are under char sprites and Fringe layers - above (like trees). Animation - is the same but animated tiles (like water). Thats all. Tdogthedog
ok.. you have 5 layers below the sprite and and 4 above.. what i mean is 5 of the layers the player will "walk over them" the other 4 the player pic goes "under them"Now Ground is the lowest layer..Mask 1 covers ground and if its not a full tile shows ground under itMask 1 animation is on top of the Mask1 layer but it flashesMask 2 covers all before and shows tiles under it if allowedMask 2 animation blinksnow Fringe layers are the layers the the player pic goes under.. these are used for leaves of trees, roof's of building, etc to make it look like the player is going behind them and they pretty much do what the mask layers do just above the player sprite..so read this list from the bottom up and its the layers order:Fringe2 animationFringe2Fringe1 animationFringe1Player SpriteMask2 animationMask2Mask1 AnimationMask1Ground
Mr.Man03053ÃâžÂ
Ground is for grass and such like that, floor tiles, for the inside and outside, etc. Mask goes above that, things like seats, all that. Mask 2 goes above Mask, example, Mask is set as a table, Mask 2 will be a book on the table. Fringe is something you can walk under, for example, a tree, you set the trunk to mask, and the leaves to fringe. Fringe 2 goes above that, for example, apples in a tree. Animation layers are for water and fire, so it looks animated…and moves.
chuchoide
The layer the player can't walk in. Like walls.
Tdogthedog
they aren't layers.. it is called a "Blocked attribute" you hit the attribute button and place it on the tile you don't want the player to walk on and it stops them..
chuchoide
Where can I find that "Attribute" thing?
Mr.Man03053ÃâžÂ
in your map editor hit "Attributes". There will be a block tile, put that down where people CANNOT walk on.
