Pbcrazy
I was just curious if anybody knew where I could get some top down view graphics. Just something to test around with. Tilesets and accompanying charsets would be nice.
Ruins of Hell
Google "rmxp sprites" or "rmxp tilesets". Eclipse uses the same format, and there's plenty of nice resources out there. :)
cheatking
@Soul:> Google "rmxp sprites" or "rmxp tilesets". Eclipse uses the same format, and there's plenty of nice resources out there. :)But those won't be top-down.I don't think you will find any tailored for eclipse. Pbcrazy
Hahaha, I'm afraid I'm not that great of a pixel artist. UI's and such I'm fine with. But tilesets are my nemesis. So, I was just hoping I might be able to find something of better quality than I can come up with. All well, I'll give it a shot. It's going to be nasty. :P
Draken
what type of theme? like modern/fantasy ect?top down tiles are very easy to make just can be a pain for buildings since you want it to look 3d so you need to make it more like a 85 angle instead of 90 so you can see the walls just a little
Pbcrazy
Fantasy would do. Really just need some grass, bushes, trees/tree stump. To be perfectly honest, I was going to try to create a 2D top down sandbox game stylized after Minecraft (block world, but it would only be seen from top down). Pbcrazy
Aye, but top down view. As in 90 degrees from horizontal, not the usual 45 in Eclipse games.
GoGames
those are top down
Pbcrazy
No they aren't. Lol, those are from a 45 degree point of view. Top down are 90 degree, or imagine if you were up in the sky, your line of sight would be perpendicular to the ground. The end effect is, you don't see the sides of objects, just their top face. kyoghin
Top down is the same as birds eye view and there's only one way to see it…Think GTA style(the old school one).![](http://www.gouranga.com/images/other/gb-gta.gif)
Pbcrazy
Aye, that's what I was talking about! Here's a mockup I made, the graphics are ripped from a Minecraft texturepack and then I edited them to work with the view.![](http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5185/5582617085_c29b15edb5.jpg)
