Ravenshade
Okay fully aware you don't normally provide support for VB6, however, since VB6 is well…not supported by anyone anymore I thought you might be able to help.I updated my source code, corrected my version history for the client and then compiled. When I ran the client (after compilation) I got Version Outdated error.Anyone solved that one before?---Updated by title. Sorry, it was utterly confusing before. ReubenNick
It said version outdated for the client when you tried playing the game? If so, its not talking about vb6 being outdated, its talking about the client being outdated.
Ravenshade
Yes it did say version outdated for the game, I assume it's because I haven't changed something somewhere that I need to. I'm just…lost on what I need to change. Does the server need to be the same version? Was there a check I needed to find in the source code? Ruins of Hell
The server and client versions must correspond or the server will deny the client. The reason is if you changed something with the game (added more sprites, changed stuff in the source, etc.) then you don't want people logging on with an old version or bad things will happen. It's a basic check.
Ravenshade
I've made the versions identical however, I'm still getting the outdated error. Via project > properties
GrimReaperReborn
On the server-side:```Public Const CLIENT_MAJOR As Byte = 1Public Const CLIENT_MINOR As Byte = 3Public Const CLIENT_REVISION As Byte = 0```Change those to the proper values.
