That's _really_ good. I'm assuming that you're going to add a texture to that grass, right?

Grass isn't that gray.  If you're going for a stylistic match to the water, make it brighter.  If you're going for realism, make the water whiter and the grass yellower and greener.  Look at breeze grass, it's practically yellow and is very bright.

The water will be alpha blended, its color is almost irrelevant. Later on down the line, you'll understand why the grass isn't neon green, and you'll be very happy it's not. ;) As for breeze grass, that stuff looks like barf. There's such a thing as Too bright.

I agree. Most tilesets here give me a headache because they use such a bright pallet. I like the grass color as it is.

The water makes sense if you're alpha blending it, but the grass doesn't look good.  If you want it to be dull, then make it darker and value, but use a more colorful tint than you're using.

It's not done. I don't know if he said so or not, but basically when he couldn't get the second grass stuff right he scraped it for now. We'll come back to it. Or, we'll keep the single color grass tile, and do something else to spice it up.

ah k.  Grass is certainly a tough thing to tackle a new style for.  If you're doing a serious project(seems to me you are) I would highly suggest you either try HD pixel art(a truly beautiful style if done right, but tough.) or vectors.  If you're going for something dark, try HD pixel art like this:

If you're going for something cute, try vectors, or do something bright and breeze like, though possibly with less contrast and more simplistic.

I think we'll stick to what we've got. Fuu, I, and Eb have the style we like and agree on. If you don't like it go play something with HD graphics, because this won't be that game.

There is no such thing as HD pixelart. Pixelart is pixelart. It might be high quality. But Fuu's graphics are exacly the same "definition" as that thing you posted. Stop overusing that term and realise that not everyone is capable of doing that kind of graphics.

Also, you can't create a 32x32 tile using vector tiles and keep the quality when converting it to any non-vector graphics format. You would have to rewrite the engine to use svg graphics.

Long story short, Skull Kid got his package hard about nice looking pixelart with good shading and can't understand that there are maybee 3 people capable of doing those kind of graphics here while 2 of them are not active anymore.

I'm aware that high definition can't actually be done with pixel art unless you literally make a piece of pixel art that's huge.  I was just suggesting that Fuu tried a different style.  He's a talented pixel artist and could maybe get something decent out of an attempt.

You're probably right.  I don't know much about vectors.  I just assumed the conversion from vector to bitmap was lossless.

Oh look someone who's getting it. It's wip, but we're actually going for that clean nintendo-ish style.
