soxio
Hi robin, I wanted your thoughts on this. Should I use EO or make my own game. I'm getting comfortable with C++ and allegro, should I attempt to make my own engine or is it just a waste of time. Or should I go with EO. I'd appreciate your thoughts on this well anyones thoughts really
evilbunnie
I really don't think our opinion matters. You should go for what you enjoy and feel comfortable with. I feel as if you should make your own engine with C++. You'd get a feel for the mechanics of engine making, you'll learn more things, more than you would with a pre-made engine.Once you've gotten better, you can restart using WINAPI and OpenGL, which is MUCH better than Allegro. Dark Crusade
@Captain:> I really don't think our opinion matters. If your engine adequately meets your requirements, and your not confident, or don't have the time to code your own engine, use EO.
Godlord
@Captain:> Once you've gotten better, you can restart using WINAPI and OpenGL, which is MUCH better than Allegro. You don't want to use WinAPI directly. It's what got me into the nasty habit of run-time linking every single Windows DLL I want to extract functions from.Yours faithfully, Stephan.
