Glaceon
Actually Nintendo allows fan made games as long as there's no profit in anyway..this includes donations, I've done my research (most people fail to realize this, but they tend to go off of what they've heard or think they know without actual facts) the past games that have given ppl the ideal that all (Pokemon) games will be brutally shut down are only those which violated the copy right, they were then shut down.On topic: You're going to need to give people more motivation than your hopes. Exception
@Glaceon:> Actually Nintendo allows fan made games as long as there's no profit in anyway. No they don't.Nintendo need to stop anybody using their trademarks at all costs, lest it becomes public domain. deathtaker26
@Lenn:> No they don't.> > Nintendo need to stop anybody using their trademarks at all costs, lest it becomes public domain.Where do people get this information that "nintendo allows fanmade games" anyway?I mean just because they haven't sued a bunch of games doesn't mean they allow it, it means they haven't heard of it, they're probably much too busy to even care but it's still illegal. Just because you just slap a disclaimer on something doesn't make it yours and it doesn't mean it's allowed.
Exception
@Crest:> Where do people get this information that "nintendo allows fanmade games" anyway? They think their understanding of the law around them is what actually makes up the law. Simply put, they believe they're an exception, simply because they believe they're doing something different to overcome said problem.
deathtaker26
@Lenn,That's just moronic though. You can't call a fan-made game yours at all. You're not making the sprites, the character, even the idea and half the story isn't yours so what's the point? You can't even call yourself a gamedesigner if all you make are fan made games. Hell I'd allow someone to use one of the many game stories I wrote that I never used if it stops people from making another damn fan-made game like pokemon. No professional company would allow such a thing. Also, on that topic why do you have an (R) in your username as if you're game name is right protected, You can't right protect pokemon it's trademarked, copy righted, it's already owned. You know nothing about trademark and copyright laws! I've actually had to study this stuff in a class. A major company like nintendo does NOT allow fan-made games. gdog12356
Truthfully I think this is a small enough game to get past that, that doesn't change the fact that its still illegal. But the real problem is that he continues to argue that it's not even though he is being shown evidence~~, he is one of those kids that like to argue until he's right.~~

I guarantee you, send Nintendo a letter or two about that website and cease and desist letters will be issued.Nintendo isn't going to be searching for fan-games to shut them down, especially when most are by a 14 year old using an open-source engine.
