    Shop Npc

You have two choices. 1\. You can put a Shop Attribute on the tile in front of your NPC. You do this in the map editor. 2\. You can make your NPC a scripted NPC that opens the shop when you talk to him. Basically, you find``` Sub ScriptedNPC(Index, Script) ```and then you add a new case, probably case 1 if you never touched the sub. Add this after Case 0, before Case Else: ``` Case 1 Call GoShopping(index, 5) ```Take note you will want to change the "5" in the command for the index of the shop you want to call. Hope this helps! ^^
  2. C-C-C-Combo Breaker! ^^ Btw… We stopped playing out of fear of The Banhammer... Kreator could have told on us. XD @Kreator: > This topic breaks the rules. No double posting. Let alone… decnonasexadecanonatuplet posting... or whatever.
  3. o0 Oh well… You're an Eclipse addict when the only time you see actual persons is when you are browsing the http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php?topic=10034.0 .
  4. Marsh has shoes while he goes away from your mom from your plowing the front of Canada. Then, he banned you for double posting about me, which caused a huge scandal between pokemon and yugioh because your father accidentally killed a hippopotamus with a toothbrush. Meanwhile, fireflies were unreal because Eclipse won the fight between various lepers whose pants died. Cancer, unable to sustain proper dehydration, began drooling all over a picture of Ninja-Tech who died because a giant ate god. Kreator stopped pixel art, and the world ended! This topic is neverending. Meanwhile Renzo was returning to Eclipse, and screamed I AM BACK! But mars was inhabited by squares that rofled over their PedoBear overlords, who always raped math with poor long division. Renzo saw this and decided to call Marsh up and demand Millions - blueberry tart tastes like poop because Emblem thinks the cats pants did something
  5. If you contact Enterbrain, could you post their anwer here so that the rest of us can know? I've been trying to find an answer to that graphics question for some time, now. Thanks ^^
  6. @DezireSoft: Funny =P Please follow the rules and don't ruin the topic, though. Marsh has shoes while he goes away from your mom from your plowing the front of Canada. 7. @The Admiral: Yeah, that's a perfect comparison: everything is born from the same source and yet different distributions have different features and some are better than others. Wow. I like that analogy. (^_^)

  9. That I didn't know. =) Well, thanks for the explaination guys, now I understand. Maybe post a topic in announcements or Engine Dev so that newcomers like me don't ask this question again?
  10. Ok, sorry then. You were saying, about C++?
  11. Ok then, the discussion is open here: http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php?topic=36514.0
  12. And the few that _did_ have the motivation didn't necessarily have the skills… Yeah, I know. I think previous attempts didn't get to a finished product because they were pushed forward by just a few people, who finally gave up due to the huge workload. But what if this became Eclipse's official position, what if the whole developpement team (who is working on EE3.0 right now) made this their next goal? A .NET migration could be the next step for Eclipse, say EE4.0 (Or EE.NET =P). I think if we stop treating this transition like a "source edit", a "branch" or whatever and give it whole community support, we would get a finished products instead of dropped project. Btw, DezireSoftware, I'm not saying you didn't do a good job on porting the source. You were one of the only members who attempted this project and for that I thank you very much. I just think that this should not be a side project while the main developpement is focused on VB6, meaning that the VB.NET needs to be updated each time a new version of VB6 comes out, but rather the official build. As always, everyone, feel free to agree, object and/or add to this post.
  13. I really think we should update the engine. Sure, EE3.0 shows every sign that it will be the greatest Eclipse _**EVER**_, but why should we keep the program in a language that isn't supported anymore? Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't we have even more possibilities with a newer version of VB? I've been working with different Mirage-based engines and they all kept the VB6 source (at least the ones I know of). By porting the source code to VB.NET, Eclipse would indisputably become _the most accessible engine_. Not only would it bring more people in the community, it would allow developpers like me to edit the source code according to their needs without having to download illegal copies of VB6\. Sure, the forum rules say that we are not allowed to post serial keys of illegal software, but I think the fact that we _need_ to find them elsewhere to be able to use Eclipse at its full potential actually defeats the initial intention. In conclusion, and for those who didn't bother to read the whole text, I think a VB.NET port (or even C++, though I don't know that language as well) would make Eclipse shine amongst its Mirage-based competitors and it would encourage the existing community to stay here instead of looking elsewhere for a source that's easier to edit. P.S: Don't get me wrong, I really admire the work you guys are doing. You are made Eclipse a great program and keep on building on it. What I'm trying to understand is why the VB6->VB.NET migration never happened.
  14. @DezireSoftware: Can you give us your work so far? At least other people interested in the project will be able to take it from there, and eventually…?
  15. Actually, there are a lot of MMORPG engines that look a lot like each other. Who stole from who, you ask? When you go back in the history of Eclipse, you find out that this isn't the way it went. Back in the days, there was an engine called Mirage, which later became Konfuze, which split into different engines. Depending on the people who tell this story, some might say their engine was the best and the other were crap, but this is off-topic. Konfuze brought (among others) Elysium and FRoG Creator to life, and from the beginning of Elysium, Eclipse was born. Conclusion: If most (if not all) 2D MMORPG makers are derived from the original Mirage source, wouldn't it be logical that they share some features and looks? After all, it's like a big family. =) Be careful now: I'm not describing Eclipse, FRoG or any other engine I mentionned as rip-offs, I think that it's great that great coders took the original source and added on it to the point of creating a new engine. I'm not ruling out theft or plagiarism either, because I can't say for sure that it hasn't happened. This is just the story as I saw it, feel free to approve, object or otherwise add to it.
  16. Good bye Crazy Smurf, I didn't have the occasion to know you much but I wish you the best of luck in your career! Who knows, maybe you'll make a big find up there. Anyway, if you have the time, you can always drop by to say hello… =) Good luck!

    NPCs attubite

About the "NPC Spawn" attribute, I have seen it in other Mirage-based engines (don't know if it was in previous versions on Eclipse, though), but because it spawns NPCs that can't interact with the players you're better off doing it The Admiral's way. ^^
