  1. Updated the thread a little bit =D
  2. Just Curious, but how do you do all of this without variables o_0? @Helladen: > I don't use variables that much lol. And how many INIs are used for every feature?
  3. Sorry for the double post But I don't know who moved this D:> (and wanted to raise attention to) I'm sorry for the improper format or wording I used but This isn't a tutorial it's a question and it Involves VB6 T_____T
  4. So I'm slowly learning a bit about Java 6, and I found out about hash-tables & vectors @_@ This is new to me, so surely I googled about it to see if there was anything VB6 related (so that I can use what I learned NOW xD) and I stumbled upon "Scripting.Dictionary" This made me smile @_@ I've been trying to figure out a way to rework how a lot of eclipse works, Mainly looking up different parts of player data WITHOUT them being online >_
  5. @MrMiguu: > @varinyc: > > > @Shadowwulfâ„¢: > > > > > did the sound even get put in? > > > Last time I checked there wasnt any sound in the engine. > > > > Purchase WN, I'd assume it's in that one since it's what robin uses for his game. > > Bad advice is **bad**. > Just because you're not aware of what [EO] has and doesn't have isn't a good reason to buy a cookie cutter engine. I'm not speaking against Robin's programming shop, but get a little more informed before you make your purchases. That's a very general opinion, too. I was under the assumption that WN was made FROM EO. So I was only pointing out that It was in WN. I haven't touched this EO in a while because I thought that the combat system was going to change. And now I thought I read that this Origins won't be updated in a while (if ever) because WN was what EO was Supposed to be. If i remember things correct x_x Besides, I wouldn't really call WN or EO a cookie cutter engine, I simply see it as a good base, it's not something to be taken as complete out-of-the-box.
  6. @Shadowwulfâ„¢: > did the sound even get put in? > Last time I checked there wasnt any sound in the engine. Purchase WN, I'd assume it's in that one since it's what robin uses for his game.
  7. @Bernkastel: > Alright, I tried Origins and it worked. This version seems a little _basic_.. That's the glory of it. Not to mention your response is awkward considering it WORKS versus 2.7 Learn to program and you'll soon see why Origins is epic.
  8. I like EO the way it currently is as well. @_@ It's minimalistic, yet still baddass at the same time D:<
  9. Just so you're aware that you're not being ignored/forgotten :) You will see a LOT more of me here in the near future! I have to take care of a few things IRL, and somehow manage to get WN as well >_< I like your work a lot ^_^, I'll be requesting a crap-ton here soon (one-at-a-time of course), all donated as well (which is one reason why I'm waiting).

_> My life is better… Does it count as a necro if I made the topic?
  11. @Aramyth: > Normally you should be using Damian's Stable version. > But as it still has a stat bug, I advice you to take this one. > > http://www.megaupload.com/?d=HGTS0ZY8 > > I will help Damian fix the stat system in his version further once he's online. > > Aramyth. Will you be posting the changes?
  12. @Robin: > 1.) I thought of that, but it didn't fit with the rest of his post. I don't see why he'd post a single positive thing when the rest of the post was just a rant at me. > > 2.) Especially considering that pretty much everyone who doesn't know how to program seems to think that vbScript is amazing. > > 3.) I wouldn't check back quite so frequently. I'm concentrating on my own game at the moment, and all of my programming is going into that. Once I get the features to the point where they're actually presentable (I think autotiles shaves off pretty much every single FPS you have.) then I'll rip them out, slap them into Origins, then release it. > > I have been in a rut recently, though. No idea what I want to do with the project. 1.) Yeah, but we all have flares sometimes. 2.) No need to doom us all xD, I was once one of them ._. 3.) at your own pace man ^_^, The amount you've put into this and what's already been done is pretty amazing. We all (most of us) have patience, I just check back to look at all the "colorful" posts anywho, I realize that updates won't be here everyday. Good luck with your game though!
  13. @Robin: > @Krash: > > > Because you code is in Source not a main.txt = not good > > What are you basing that on? Your own uneducated opinion, that's what. I think you misunderstood him. I think he was trying to say he was in agreement over the lack of scripting. He stated that he chose your engine, then gave an example of the fact that you don't use a scripting system "which isn't any good". *my translation at least* That and went on about putting it in, It's Obvious that your code is better than anything we've used so far (my opinion), so he probably just wanted an example of the guild system on how to base the faction code. Not defending all of what he said, Just didn't want it all to go downhill over some misunderstanding. I think the original question, with the update in what he said was that he does have a script, but would like help making it in the actual engine. Doesn't really change much. Just wanted to put that out there D: ===== PS: I check this thread bi-daily now xD I'm so excited to see all the new things you do with the engine. ;~; too bad my Fan Club REO thread died.
  14. Not sure if I'm correct. Actually, I'm still unsure of what exactly is meant. But from what I CAN tell, (it think) they just want to paste in a scripted NPC they got somewhere. Answer: EO doesn't have a scripting language. _Word of the day (Robin's Version):_"No." but Adr990 might also be correct o.o
  15. @Shadowwulfâ„¢: > If you start now, you must be willing to either: > a)Source in his updates when they are released > -or- > b)Redo your own source edits when releases come If you want to go Option A, I'd get the program WinDiff. It's pretty epic.
  16. Here's the source, I haven't changed much yet. But for anyone wanting to use it, It's a good base you can edit. Basically all the grunt work is done, you can just choose to pretty up what you want. I'll release updates for anyone who wants one though. Credits to me for the Program, Credits to whoever made the UDTs in Eclipse Stable, Credits to whoever made the GetVar and SetVar Subs. A Thank You would be nice if you decide to Download/Use it.
  17. This Idea is just too epic of a concept for your simple minds D:< Except Robin. Robin is in denial. :/ And Ballie, who joined the Club! Bwahaha! @Pokemon: > Whut…? Ballie is evolving...? > ... > ... > Ballie has just evolved into a: > Pure Awesome-ness! > Would you like to nickname Pure Awesome-ness?: [> Enter new Nickname: Ballie PS: Gwen, In this realm you cannot be queen unless Married to Robin :/ That's the way it works. PPS: And I think This group is officially awesome enough to go from fan club, to complete Alternate Universe =D
  18. I am making a fan club Titled: Fan Club REO (Robin & Eclipse Origins)! This is to support the amazing work and the person Behind the amazing work of Origins, which is amazing. 19. Forgotten Goddess Presents: Auto Developer Eclipse Mod (ADEM) Forget the title, x_x I just made it up, Forgotten Goddess is my community title. What It does (crudely): - allows creation of Items, NPCs, and Spells Server-Side. - Mass production based on what I call "mods". - Adds levelreq to items & spells - Adds a classreq() to Items/NPCs/Spells so that you can add any combination of classes to be required. Comments/Questions/Suggestions Welcome! **How to Use ADEM**: =================== ADEM.exe goes in your server folder Terminology: >! BASE = What the Variable starts out as at the beginning. MOD = How much does the BASE increase for each SET? (If 0 the BASE Will never increase) SET = How many Items until the MOD increases. Parts of the Program to Note: >! _"Start Number"_ = The Number to start production on. Say you already have items 1 to 5 done, you can make this 6 to start on Item 6. >! _"Amount"_ = Amount of what you want to make -.- >! _"Include Level in Vital?"_ = If yes, It adds the Level Requirement into the Vital Base. >! _"Base Name"_ = The Generic name of the Product. ( Appends an AMD # at the end) >! _"Access"_ = required access to use the production items. >! _"Classes"_ = Check boxes for every Class in your Server Classes folder. No more than 12 classes supported at this time. Checking these classes will Mark them as Usable/Attack-able by those classes* >! _"Level Guide?"_ = Which of the Visible Stats should the NPC have more of? –--(NPC LEVEL * 40 for the selected guide, NPC LEVEL * 15 for the other stats) >! _"Rotate Guide"_ = Rotates the Level guide in the Direction specified, or not at all. AKA Chooses a new Higher Stat… ----(This will change... I made this for me, thus why I made that, The Guide will be replaced by the BASE/MOD/SET for each stat in the next version. >! _"AoE"_ = Area of Effect for Spells. Example of ADEM in action: >! What I want: - 6 Weapon Items total - 3 Weapons of the same level with a damage base of the Level, Increasing by 1 every item in this group, all having the same Price - 3 weapons of the same level with a damage Total That starts off from the last damage total, with a price doubled of the last price. >! What I need to do: >Items Production > Type Weapon >starting Item 1> amount 6 > Weapon LevelReq = 5 > Mod 3 > Set 3 Damage = 1 > Mod 1 > Set 1 (Include Level = Yes) Price Base = 500 > Mod 500 > Set 3 >! EXAMPLE 2: What I want: - 20 Armor - 1 for every 5 levels - Defence Increases by 3 every 5 levels - Price starts at 600 and increases by 200 every armor >! What I need to do: >Items Production > Type Weapon >starting Item 7> amount 20 > Base Level = 5 > Mod 5 > Set 1 Vital Base = 3 > Mod 3 > Set 1 (Include Level = No) Price Base = 600 > Mod 200 > Set 1 Changes to the server to use the Files Produced By ADEM: You need to hard code MAX_CLASSES for these to work. Note: In the future, you should be able to use whatever Types you currently have, with the option of adding on the LevelReq and ClassReq() to the end of your Types, but for now ADEM only uses these ones (modified from Stable Eclipse) ==ItemRec== >! ``` Type ItemRec Name As String * NAME_LENGTH Desc As String * 150 >! Pic As Long Type As Byte Data1 As Long Data2 As Long Data3 As Long StrReq As Long DefReq As Long SpeedReq As Long MagicReq As Long ClassReq As Long AccessReq As Byte >! addHP As Long addMP As Long addSP As Long AddStr As Long AddDef As Long AddMagi As Long AddSpeed As Long AddEXP As Long AttackSpeed As Long Price As Long Stackable As Byte Bound As Byte TwoHanded As Long ClassReq2(0 To MAX_CLASSES) As Byte LevelReq As Integer End Type >! ``` ==NpcRec== >! ``` Type NpcRec Name As String * NAME_LENGTH AttackSay As String * 100 >! Sprite As Long SpawnSecs As Long Behavior As Byte Range As Byte >! STR As Long DEF As Long Speed As Long Magi As Long Big As Long MAXHP As Long Exp As Long SpawnTime As Long >! ItemNPC(1 To MAX_NPC_DROPS) As NPCEditorRec >! Element As Long >! SPRITESIZE As Byte ClassReq(0 To MAX_CLASSES) As Byte End Type >! ``` ==SpellRec== >! ``` Type SpellRec Name As String * NAME_LENGTH ClassReq As Long LevelReq As Long MPCost As Long Sound As Long Type As Long Data1 As Long Data2 As Long Data3 As Long Range As Byte >! SpellAnim As Long SpellTime As Long SpellDone As Long >! AE As Long Big As Long >! Element As Long ClassReq2(0 To MAX_CLASSES) As Byte End Type >! ``` NOTE: Small Additional Edits are required in order for you to make use of the LevelReq and ClassReq2() Functions, But most of you should be able to figure out what to do If you want to use them. To Do List: - Finish this Tutorial - Add an Image Selector for Productions (one image for all, sorry :/) - Possibly add a Name Assigner (reads names line by line from a text document (easier than editing each item by hand) - Finish The NPCs, remove the Guide - Add more advanced Functions, Possibly about Different Class options per sets or something. - Add In the Different Eclipse Version Types as well as make my two new additions Optional. - Add a whole Conversion Portion to the Program - Add a selective mass editor so that you can edit already made objects, selecting portions to remain the same and others to change. - Fix up the layout to look better… Fix my horrible grammar D:< and word mistakes. I want to continue developing this product on my own a little bit longer, I know there are better people out there for things like this than I. xD but I dun wanna feel bad and quit. So the code to my program Is closed till I do a bit more and feel accomplished ^_^
  20. @Tylian!: > If you do paperdoll that way, some items will render incorrectly. > > If you're facing backwards, it'll draw the weapon infront of your armour for example. > > =D I had huge items like that labeled as two-handed. then had the weapon blt on up and down and had them contained in an if statement. Case up if twohanded then blt first, case down if twohanded then blt last. or something like that. I can't wait for the new release robin ^___^
  21. Oh, Thank you! ^________^
  22. I'm Trying to change Map name lengths from 20 to 40, so I've created (or attempted to) create a converter just for this purpose. But I don't know how to get it to convert the Tiles x___x ``` For X = 0 To MAX_MAPX For Y = 0 To MAX_MAPY NewRec.Tile(X, Y).Ground = OldRec.Tile(X, Y).Ground NewRec.Tile(X, Y).Mask = OldRec.Tile(X, Y).Mask NewRec.Tile(X, Y).Anim = OldRec.Tile(X, Y).Anim NewRec.Tile(X, Y).Mask2 = OldRec.Tile(X, Y).Mask2 NewRec.Tile(X, Y).M2Anim = OldRec.Tile(X, Y).M2Anim NewRec.Tile(X, Y).Fringe = OldRec.Tile(X, Y).Fringe NewRec.Tile(X, Y).FAnim = OldRec.Tile(X, Y).FAnim NewRec.Tile(X, Y).Fringe2 = OldRec.Tile(X, Y).Fringe2 NewRec.Tile(X, Y).F2Anim = OldRec.Tile(X, Y).F2Anim NewRec.Tile(X, Y).Type = OldRec.Tile(X, Y).Type NewRec.Tile(X, Y).Data1 = OldRec.Tile(X, Y).Data1 NewRec.Tile(X, Y).Data2 = OldRec.Tile(X, Y).Data2 NewRec.Tile(X, Y).Data3 = OldRec.Tile(X, Y).Data3 NewRec.Tile(X, Y).String1 = OldRec.Tile(X, Y).String1 NewRec.Tile(X, Y).String2 = OldRec.Tile(X, Y).String2 NewRec.Tile(X, Y).String3 = OldRec.Tile(X, Y).String3 NewRec.Tile(X, Y).Light = OldRec.Tile(X, Y).Light NewRec.Tile(X, Y).GroundSet = OldRec.Tile(X, Y).GroundSet NewRec.Tile(X, Y).MaskSet = OldRec.Tile(X, Y).MaskSet NewRec.Tile(X, Y).AnimSet = OldRec.Tile(X, Y).AnimSet NewRec.Tile(X, Y).Mask2Set = OldRec.Tile(X, Y).Mask2Set NewRec.Tile(X, Y).M2AnimSet = OldRec.Tile(X, Y).M2AnimSet NewRec.Tile(X, Y).FringeSet = OldRec.Tile(X, Y).FringeSet NewRec.Tile(X, Y).FAnimSet = OldRec.Tile(X, Y).FAnimSet NewRec.Tile(X, Y).Fringe2Set = OldRec.Tile(X, Y).Fringe2Set NewRec.Tile(X, Y).F2AnimSet = OldRec.Tile(X, Y).F2AnimSet Next Y Next X ``` It always gets stuck in there, first map - first tile as an RTE 9 Am I doing it wrong o.0
  23. @Alshain: > I'm currently using Eclipse Origins and am wondering how to use pixel based movement as opposed to tile based. I've looked into the modPlayer.bas in the server's SRC folder and found the PlayerMove sub, but couldn't recognize anything that I'd change to stop the player from making 32pixel steps. Thanks a lot for the help. I wouldn't know the answer to your question, but I do believe the best person to answer your question would be Robin. If you added [EO] to your thread title, they will be more likely to see this thread and provide an answer.
  24. Thanks for the Tutorial, It was really helpful. It kind of Irked me to see that the Eclipse PicScreen was never centered. xD Now it's truly 21x15 blocks instead of 20x15\. 10 on the left and 9 on the right T____T
