  1. Not at all, Glad to have you on board Lam3r.
  2. I've changed the format and updated with a little extra, thanks for teh feedback. :)
  3. @Robin: > JPGs are really lossy. > > Save it as a high-quality JPG in Photoshop, or a PNG file. > > It's really hard to see how the pixel art is. > > The anatomy seems fine though. The only problem I have with it is how the sizes change between the different directions. > > That girls head looks a lot different when facing forward compared to down-left facing. I'll change the format, sorry. And yeah, we had trouble transictioning between Iso and 2d.
  4. Correction: ![](http://i27.tinypic.com/2ahxpfr.png) THIS is what we have so far, over the next few days I'll be trying to create the perfect common ground between these samples. This is what we've got so far, it's loosely based on works from www.endless-online.com and is still very much a work in progress. We're not really going for the high-graphical approach… However, we very much intend to take the low-graphics trains as far as we can. ![](http://i32.tinypic.com/1eq5nc.png) Below is our latest activity, it was originally intended for our Lead Artist. ![](http://i27.tinypic.com/e128li.png) And this is something I've been working on personally, we haven't decided if it's the way we want to go yet. ![](http://i32.tinypic.com/15g35t2.png) Meaning: I need to consult the rest of my team, really. Let me know what you think. But, please, try to keep it constructive, eh? Thanks.
  5. I've recently taken on the position as Advertiser for a game a friend of mine is making, I thought some of you might be interested in it. Current Jackpot is $57 but, steadily rising. Thats [World Mobs](http://www.worldmobs.com). Enjoy.
  6. I got all excited when I thought this was an actual house template… Its mislabeled, in no way, shape or form is that a template.. *sobs* Somebody do me an Isometric house template now pl0x.
  7. @[GrimTechâ„¢: > Skillzalot link=topic=46627.msg474725#msg474725 date=1245368060] > Thanks for helping me Bong. Glad you could help Your very welcome bud. Glad I could help. Thanks for the practice. ;)
  8. @Admiral: > You should look three topics below yours: http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php/topic,45951.0.html > Moreso, Reply #22 > :icon_beer: Old topic, sorry. Delete it if you like, though a 8 directional allignment grid WOULD still be quite helpfull…
  9. For 2.7 yes but, its totally possible on Solar.
  10. @[GrimTechâ„¢: > Bong@rtist link=topic=46627.msg474664#msg474664 date=1245362587] > Here you go, I'm still editing it but, it gives you a rough idea. > ![](http://i39.tinypic.com/k1anid.jpg) > Credit not needed, only a minor tweak. I just decreased the space between vertical planks, reduced the length and width of the side plank and added a little dimension to the top of the vertical planks. Other than that yours was spot on. I'm just adding planks along the side of the fence, that's the only major thing it was missing. And yeah, add some more work, your actually really good. By the way, I think this might help you out. ![](http://i43.tinypic.com/2dlokcz.png) Credit goes to Admiral Refuge. Its a 32 by 32 grid, 6 squares by 6 squares. ![](http://i41.tinypic.com/m9t9ur.png) And there you go. That's my final edit, on your picket fence, I could quite easily come up with another middle tile, then it'll be ready to lay in game. By the way… The palette is IMMACULATE. A real pleasure to work with.
  11. Here you go, I'm still editing it but, it gives you a rough idea. ![](http://i39.tinypic.com/k1anid.jpg) Credit not needed, only a minor tweak.
  12. Might be cool if you did the other side of the fence as well, as in, with the horizontal plank BEHIND the vertical planks. Very promising work!

    My First Sprite

![](http://i39.tinypic.com/ir8d8k.png) With Paint. PNG Format. ![](http://i44.tinypic.com/345j7ma.png) With Gimp. PNG Format. Theres you go, might have those mixed up though, not sure. Either way Gimp is fat superior in the coloring department but, Paint seems to offer alot more comfort when it comes to actually CREATING art. You've said that before Slym, I still don't understand what you mean by Beveling & Embossing? Think I'll look it up, haven't reached that stage of my training yet. And I was trying to honor his original design, not my style. If it was my design the eyes would be about a pixel above the nose which would be about 2 pixels above the mouth.. Not to mention I'm designing my sprites as seperate elements, as in hair = another layer, etc, etc. But, meh, didn't wanna go that far, just trying to help. :cheesy:

    My First Sprite

Yeah, was really only a quick sample… Something to aim for. Reference, if you like. Shapes a bit off, thats MY personal battle but, its fine as an example of shading/lighting.

    My First Sprite

![](http://i41.tinypic.com/2wfqzrp.jpg) With Paint. ![](http://i41.tinypic.com/1556l1u.jpg) With Gimp. I'm not that good, I took this as nothing but, an opportunity to practice… The legs are still funny but, the shading SEEMS to be pretty good. All in all Gimp is by far the best program around to use to shade your sprites. I personally find the Smudge tool invaluable. _Yeah, I'm gonna get flamed for that remark._ Note: The black outline does nothing but, put a rather large "Look at this. Look at this!" Sign over error's… 90% of the time you can get away with imperfection quite smoothly as players won't see sprites in great detail. Feel free to use those, if you want to by the way, somewhere to start, if you like.
  18. Color: Red with a thick black outline Number of legs: 3 Number of eyes: 2 Expression: o.O Background: Lava lamp red? If you got a spare 5 minutes…

  23. Nice, you wouldn't think it to look at it, looks like Dante. With a face scarf?
  24. @MolecularMuffin: > ~ link=topic=43762.msg440753#msg440753 date=1241325685] > Aight, I made this is like 5 minutes. A new gears sig. Rating it out of ten would be nice, thanks! 7/10? Should drag the picture down a bit, exposing a little mor eof the face, very nice though.
