  1. @JBA: > My first game was Sonic the Hedgehog on the Genesis. I played 2 and three afterwards, and 3 was my favorite sonic game. :) > > Majora's Mask is still my favorite game, though. :D OMG mine too!
  2. Meh. I'll probably be hosting some extra servers on mine in the future. Only to people I trust though xD

I played for a while on Bloodfeather as a Gnome, because the guy who invited me had a char there. Server was a bit empty though. We made some new chars on Outland, now we have matching Tauren. I'm Fruitloaf, the Tauren Druid, he's Maltloaf, the Tauren Shaman :D We started a trend, with people coming and making new chars. We have a Salmonloaf, Milkloaf, Cherryloaf, Undeadloaf… Yeah, we're turning into something like The Sabres from old-school Runescape xD
  4. I was bought an old Sega Master System when I was around 2\. By the time I was 3 I could beat my mum at Asterix! :D ![](http://www.chronicgames.net/images/screeny_mastersystem_asterix.gif) First game I ever played.

    Awww mann!!!

@Soljah: > Yeah, the veteran group was re-looked at, there were many people that weren't active, or even deserving of being a veteran. Rofl.
  6. @lucifer1101: > i wasnt boasting iwas just saying that if you dont like the engine you can change it to suit. > if you dont like the article fine, make your own or just say why you dont like it dont go calling people dicks. > Oh btw this is in the game design forum isnt it, that means i can post anything relevent to game design it doesnt actually have to be specificully suited for this engine! I just told you why I don't like it, and read my bloody post. I didn't call anyone a dick ;D

    The Perfect Game

Programming is 90% common sense, 10% syntax.

    The Perfect Game

Again, all of those are easy to program. The hardest part is the art.

Personally I'd add a new skill, that allows players to re-build things. With a commission from the Baron of the place, of course.
  10. You were the only English member!? That explains so much…
  11. @Spike: > basically because im british and british people in american films are always cockney london mobsters called spike or wierd white haired vampires with crappy english accents…originally it was alanspike or in my mind alan the only british guy Sometimes I feel depressed that I don't fill that stereotype. American people are always surprised when they hear my nortern accent xD

I just bought WoW because of that 3x exp, recruit-a-friend thingy. Just finished $100 worth of programming work too, so bought some gold and the expansion :]

Destructable environment is easy. Just add an integer to each tile holding it's 'health' then take that down every time it's hit by a spell/attack. Add checks to the BltTile subroutine to render different tiles depending on it's 'health'.
  14. @Zuleloan: > I was thinking batman… My actual name is Robin. Go figure ;D

Where my spell list isn't a f*cking list.

    My Story

I loled hard at that story. > (PS: did you guys authorize something called XtremeWorlds to use your tilesets?) Classic! I love this guy.
  17. My username wasn't inspired. I lack an imagination.
  18. He said he was Goth, but we all know he was just a little Emo kid. ;D
  19. Holy shit!? Source code. I never knew that existed. You know what you need to do to your game before reading that document? Make it so it isn't a boring grind. Remove having to click to target to click a list of spells. Add a functional, non-intrusive GUI that is comfortable for the player and doesn't comprise of bullshit cop-outs like listboxes and labels. As I've said many times, sort your priorities out. Before you even begin to concentrate on 'realism', you need to sort your engine out. Remove the endless 'ctrl, click, cast spell, ctrl' grind. It's not fun. It never will be. Add quests, skills, bosses, reasons for people to party, a decent variety of items to keep people interested. I can't even articulate myself properly at the moment… but you need to sort out the gameplay aspects you _already have_ before adding heaps of new things. If your core engine doesn't allow for a fun, smooth game, then you've failed, and anything added to it has been for naught. But seriously… you're actually boasting about having access to source code? It's just like a dick. Just because you have access to it, doesn't mean you know how to use it.
  20. @l0lz!: > I simply changed the images mode to indexed color, and set the palettes to exact. How would I make the buttons animated? Also how do you get stuff like that on the game screen? XD I did that using my Dx8 engine. As for making them animated, look here: [http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php/topic,30682.msg278326.html#msg278326](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php/topic,30682.msg278326.html#msg278326)
  21. The amount of skill to get a custom GUI in Eclipse is being able to drag around a couple of components. You know what is a bitch to code? Resizable maps. They're a _b*tch_ to code.
  22. Robin

    Spell icons

Doesn't Eclipse load unencrypted graphic files anyway? xD
  23. Replace the labels with images and make all those buttons animated. Remove the 'online' label. Add something to your website instead. Also, how are you using the RMVX things in Eclipse? They're filled with alpha-channels, I only ever managed to run them through a Dx8 engine. ![](http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e112/Kite_Minase/grammar.png)

    Yet another GUI.

Shadow… stop bumping my old topics.
