No there isn't a read-me which teaches you how to use the game. However there are many guides and tutorials on the forum. Total Eclipse included a tutorial in the server… so should Eclipse Evo.

Yes, but not all versions of Eclipse appear to support that. EE2.7's class .ini's are as follows- [CLASS] Name=Test Class MaleSprite=0 FemaleSprite=0 Desc=This is a test class. STR=0 DEF=0 SPEED=0 MAGI=0 MAP=1 X=0 Y=0 Locked=0 Perhaps they were just left out, and you can add the item numbers in.

Just add this to your OnNewChar Sub. If GetPlayerClass(Index) = # Then Call SetPlayerInvItemNum( Index, InvSlot, ItemNum) End If Fill out #, InvSlot, and ItemNum respectively.

To change the nighttime graphics change the color of the blue tile next to the levelup graphic in graphics/tiles10 in the client directory. It doesn't alpha blend, but instead… blend some other strange way, so it may take a lot of editing to get it right.

Was it necessary that you had to post this topic twice? (or was it possibly the result of Eclipse's slow server?)

This question was recently asked and answered before. Check the forum before posting, your questions are likely answered. I first recommend checking tutorials and guides, there are many of them which will help people new to Eclipse such as yourself. In answer to question, Eclipse revolves around combat. CTRL to attack. Please refrain from posting any more amateur questions before first consulting a quickstart or newbie guide. Thanks.

Ok, forget everything they all told you, they have… very limited knowledge on the subject you asked. Depending on the context on your question, the answer is varied- If you meant running your own client, in which the server is running on your own computer- then yes it will definately work. Connect to your computers local IP (127.0.0.1) and you will be able to use the client. If you meant running another client, to connect to someones game over the internet, then no. Your computer needs to be connected to the internet so that it may connect to the server on someone else's computer through an open port.

I'm no programmer, but I've never heard of an 'if not' statement. Wouldn't it be 'else'?

There's plenty of guides for people knew to Eclipse in the tutorial section that will answer your question and more. Run along now.

The transitions, the shape of the world, the mixing of tilesets all look terrible. 1/10

The transitioning between the sky and the island is bad. I recommend that you work on it.
