  1. @lexkymbeth: > Haha i like how this post went of topic Welcome to Eclipse. If the thread didn't get derailed, I would be concerned.
  2. Yo Spike, I just saw Green Lantern (the movie), it was EPIC; what'd you think of it?
  3. @DDunit: > ENFP > > duck, I'm like Robin. It actually makes sense.
  4. The "old" eclipse home page was a .TK domain, which I think at one point led to a freewebs site. But that was back in '05, maybe '04? Here's a nice gem, though: http://web.archive.org/web/20060320231207/http://www.createforum.com/phpbb/index.php?sid=3ed869d1aad3fbd8b75c9dea4054b745&mforum=marsh0 All hail the green forums! PS: I miss Legend of the green dragon Xtra Power; now THAT was an epic game, despite it's poor mapping, small world, and 2 people-online average…
  5. @Pinkamina: > –snip-- And this is where I say enough is enough and lock the topic..
  6. @Marsh: > People have been saying Eclipse is dying for years. I suppose eventually they will be right. Yeah, but the chances of a meteor crashing into the Dreamhost server building is pretty slim, so I won't hold my breath for Eclipse dying anytime soon.
  7. @Alexander: > Nice mustache. I'll have to grow my 'stache back, now that I have the hat and monocle to go with it.
  8. Also, monocle. ![](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/files/imagehost/pics/b3ce92bd8c75d3b1492fe1024b5dea34.jpg)
  9. Nova, there were just as many cookie-cutter generic mmos in the WIP board during the times of EE as there are now. Heck, the reason I started Retarded Online back with EE2.7, was because there were almost all just general things popping up all the time. But if doing: Dim X as Integer X = GetPlayerHP(Index) Is harder than doing: Dim X X = GetPlayerHP(Index) Then I'm sorry for your loss. However, to reiterate my reply to you earlier, while it's not as simple as putting your code in a main.txt, it is as simple as using one of the source tutorials to make a "scripted tile" and put your code in the select case for those scripted tiles… You know, code that's almost exactly like the ones you'd script. Yes, I understand that the main.txt was one file, and I get it; if you want to execute code when the player attacks another player, instead of hitting ctrl+f in notepad and searching for the OnAttack sub, you now have to ctrl+f in VB6 and search for "PlayerAttackNpc" (or PlayerAttackPlayer, etc). But I don't understand how anyone can be crying in here that they "just don't get it" -- especially if they knew how to script... unless they don't understand variable types or something. And this is coming from someone who created an entire leveling spell system, turn-based battle system, gun core, and many more things, all in VBScript, and I could effortlessly port the same scripts into origins, which I did for several of them, using something similar to scripted NPS, scripted tiles, scripted items, etc.
  10. @Anna: > Still INTJ, although the strength of J is stronger than it was previously. I guess I'm getting more canterkerous in my old age! :P I had my mother take this test; she's also INTJ, but her Introverted score was 100%.
  11. @Harris: > Have I missed anything good since I have been gone? http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php/topic,75860.0.html You guys were away for about the same amount of time, so here.
  12. @Spork: > PUNCH ME IN THE FACE! ![](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/files/imagehost/pics/21212d8fae8ed5bd196f099fb0d5c035.jpg)
  13. @Richy: > I challenge someone to show me a great feature they've built in sadscript, without the use of a single line of coding in VB6. I would point to my leveling spells system or my turn-based battle system, but… The leveling spells system needed a source edit because of a bug in EE's GetPlayerMP(), et al. since they were not giving back the correct results. The turn-based battle system needed a source edit to fix a bug in the custom menus, iirc.
  14. @DrNova: > In reply to a comment **Admiral** made, Sadscript and VB are actually significantly different. True, there are alot of similarities in overall look, however implementation is very much different, doing one thing in Code requires several additions here and there, Sadscript you could write out your code in the main.ini and the engine did the bulk of the work. At the worst you may have had to manually do some .ini work, but that was simple. Nova, I agree that VB6 requires "a little extra" depending on what you have to do. However, if all you'd want to do, is script, you can still do that, you'll just have to give your variables a type instead of just putting "Dim." I don't have the code on me at the moment, but I ported my old EE scripts for Rock, Paper, Scissors, to EO, and it was almost copy and paste, except for making sure I capitalized and added variable types. Yes, I had to follow the tutorial on how to add in a "scripted" tile, "scripted" NPC, etc., but after that, it was pretty much the exact same thing – throwing my functions in a select case for that NPC. Only difference, was that I had to put it in the source code with VB, instead of a .txt file in VBS. On a side note... I'm pretty sure someone has the old Sadscript tutorial for Mirage -- it's pretty simple to put in, from what I remember, and with some basic intuitive programming ability (that is... common sense) it shouldn't be difficult to add in a scripting systems to origins.
  15. @Azure: > I haven't done this test in a while. :D Same results after … three years. > > INTJ > > Also when I took this test with a group, no one actually believed that it was the right score. The first thing the proctor asked was if I had ADD... :D Yeah, I took this in Psychology, my first year of college; just re-took the test, scored the same.
  16. It seems like yesterday you were a sarcastic 13-year-old kid. Happy birthday, you are now a sarcastic 16-year-old kid!
  17. @⠛ʍEи: > I feel like the real old members pining for the green boards. Long live the green forums!
  18. Vbscript and VB really aren't all that different, especially since you have access to the same sadscript functions in the Eclipse source (GetPlayerHP, etc). What I would actually use when I was screwing around with Origins, I'm not sure if it's there anymore, but there were some nice source edits that allowed a sort of "scripted tile," "scripted item," "scripted NPC" etc. [Here is one such example](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php/topic,63458.0.html) – my old Rock, Paper, Scissors game was almost entirely scripted, but porting it over to Origins was pretty simple; even the GUI. @lel: > OMG! I love Robin! and everything he has done is perfect. That's what is called "brown nosing." Warning - while you were typing 5 new replies have been posted. You may wish to review your post.
  19. So I have a fake tophat, which I got so I can get an idea how I would look in a real top hat (they cost like, $200-$400); took this while skyping: ![](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/files/imagehost/pics/cc034db5407de015a483aaabb20e9c23.jpg) This was the general response: >! > Robin says: > *that is scary as fuck > *you look like the guys from Clockwork Orange > I say: > *I actually had to google this movie. > */book > Robin says: > *really? > *It's pretty famous > I say: > *Holy crap, I do slightly resemble them > Robin says: > *slightly? > *you look just like him > *that hat is fucking terrifying > *add a monocle and a stick and you'll be the splitting image > *don't sing "Singing in the rain" whilst walking around. the older generation will be scared. I actually already ordered the monocle.
  20. I read the warning msg and the ban threat you got; I can't reply to this atm, as I'm at school, I'll call you when I'm finished class. Locking in the meantime.
  21. @salmetore: > Alright guys i need help with my math homework my teacher gave me today… > > 2+2? Assume a and b are non-zeros. a = b Multiply through a: a2 = ab Subtract b2: a2 - b2 = ab - b2 Factor: (a - b)(a + b) = b(a - b) Divide out (a - b): a + b = b Assuming a = b: b + b = b Combine like terms: 2b = b Divide: 2 = 1. Therefore, **2 + 2 = 2.**
