I really like this engine, 1 it works with some older tutorials like the quest system which I would argue is essential to making a ORPG, and 2 it incorporates the event system which jcsnider did a great job on. BUGS: - I cannot activate an event no matter what I do, I press ctrl nothing happens. SUGGESTIONS: - Possibly make a quest tutorial or just put a quest in the game that can be activated. - I suggest adding a transparent backing over the text that you can toggle on and off in the options. (It's really hard to read text with some of the map tiles behind it). - Add the option for an event to give you a quest. I am a fan of what you're doing here and can't wait to see fixes and additions.

There is a major bug: If I am to setup an event with 2 pages: Page 1: >Add Text "You have received 20 gold!" >Self Switch A = On >Give Item = 20 gold >Exit event processing Page 2: (Page Attributes: Self Switch A is true) >Add Text "You have already received your 20 gold!" If I am to spam CTRL without continuing the conversation it will just multiply my gold so if I spam CTRL 20 times I will have 4000 gold and once I continue with that chat dialogue it will change the switch on. This is a critical issue and can easily be abused by players…

  6. Hi! I am just wandering is it impossible to make it so I can use RMXP/Eclipse Origins character sprites and tile-sets? The reason I'm asking is because I have already made a bunch of paper-dolls I also prefer the older look. In addition is there a way to open that panel at the top of the screen in the video above? The only way I have found to open the map editors is doing commands like /editmap.

  9. Version 3.0.17 Bugs: - There are still bugs with conditional branches more specifically the skill and classes sections of conditions. Skills have no options when both fire and water spells exist, while classes have both classes and the skills in the same drop down menu. - Using the developer client the class master seemed to teleport around until i went into my map editor and exited the map editor. (Seems to be related with the dev client) - Attacking crashed my client. (could not duplicate) - Dropped money will not allow you to pick it back up unless you restart your client. Dropping items after money will also not be allowed to be picked up. - Graphical error with rendering of gold amount in the shop I'll post more as I find them.
  10. Great update! The more I play around with it the more I love it! Also, I remember you saying the screen not scrolling on a map smaller than the screen doesn't work is there any way you think you can look into changing it? If not what is the best way around it? [Bugs] Now there is an issue with the description text of the fire spell not fitting in its box. Events editor is somewhat glitchy when in conditional branch I have the option to select: Warrior, Magician, Fire and Water and in the skills condition I have no option… I am still occasionally getting "Run-Time error subscript out of range" when I click event menu while I have it open and clicking on a event. (I tried duplicating this but it didn't happen again?) The Shop has an issue when rendering the description, the price appears above the description. I do have a request: A quest system, It sounds noobish to ask for something like this but from seeing how stable your engine is so far with how much you have already done I can see you doing a great job on it. All it needs to be is a window like the inventory that displays a list of quests with a scroll bar, when a quest is clicked on a window pops up with quest information: If it hasn't been started it will display information on how to start it and the rewards. While a quest in progress the quest name color changes to yellow, the window now displays the player's tasks. When all tasks have been completed it will now display the quest text in the quests log as green and when the player clicks on it will tell him to go back to the quest giver to obtain his reward. Also add a command in an event or npc to start a quest. This is alot like runescape's old quest log system and I think you should consider developing one for EA. These days so many engines copy tutorials and lets just say they don't do a good job so I see this as a need for those developers who want to make an above normal eclipse game. >!   11. My opinion on the new event system: I feel like it is not very user friendly… I find it easier to go to the map editor and click events and see my events and where they are positioned. I prefer the JC's event interface (the event creation window) it doesn't seem as crammed into a smaller window easier to use. Other than that I find EA to excel in all other areas! If you have the time Deathbeam, I suggest looking into these areas and improving. P.S - What exactly is the script command used for? I hope for the event system to be very versatile and easy to use to allow a easier way of adding new content into the game: Bosses, Scripted events, and better more intresting NPC interactions.

  13. Make sure you right click run as administrator and even try running it in compatibility mode for XP service pack 2
  14. When in town I usually get 65 fps, my average with EA is 45-50fps not sure if you can do anything about it.

    Where do I get it, lol i know shhh…. Can't someone point me in the right direction, I don't even think they sell vb6 anymore.
