  1. Wait I can edit code live whilst the program is debugging ? You have no idea how much time that would save. Also- I don't have "max guilds" on the client side. I have "MAX_GUILD_SAVES" on the server side, this is set at 200. Max members = 50, max ranks = 6 on both sides.
  2. This always ends poorly, but shoot me one anyway. I've been in all the rest, would hate to start missing such ravaging excitement. pezkooter
  3. @'Growlith1223': > Your Runtime error revolves around an index that's higher or lower than the current maximum. if you have VB6, breakpoint on the login sequence, and see what the GuildNum is, and see if it's higher than the current maximum(would be like Guild(1 To MAX_GUILDS) As GuildRec). I can fix this for you but I don't do free work, sorry Right so: Find the login sequence (ModClientTCP?) Check that the guild number isn't higher than the maximum of guilds. (ModGuild) Seems straightforward enough, I'll take a look at it after dinner. I'm starting to get a feel for Eclipse in VB6.
  4. Hi all. UPDATE: I finally got in touch with him- he's told me he's going to fix it later. I've come across some issues in my code as I've been just trying to polish up what I've already got so I can start testing and balancing it with a few friends. I've got these issues: I had a guild system put in by Justin Fugate, initially it worked but I later asked him to add in hunger/thirst systems and somewhere during the back and forth he cocked up the guild system and after a few month hiatus I've remembered how hard it is to get back in contact with him, here are the symptoms: -Created guild. -Server crash "Runtime Error 9: SubScript out of Range" -Launch server -Launch game -Log in -Server crash "Runtime Error 9: SubScript out of Range" - I also asked for him to put in a multi-drop system for NPCs with % chances for each item to drop- it looks good on the editor, the only problem is that no monsters actually drop anything and I'm not really sure where the code for this would be. To change the percent you type 0-100 in the box but even at 100 the items never drop (it's definitely a code issue as I've looked at and checked the items exist, etc.) I hope someone can help me out here, thanks. 6. > If it is a paid one.. contact Andii "I tried messaging andi on skype and I can see he's been online/away etc but doesn't seem interested because he didn't respond." I said that.. I don't WANT to pay for work to be done, because then it's just a one off and I'm still on my own - but it doesn't look like I've got much choice.
  7. Yeah, I understand everyone is busy, I could probably pay for a few tiles, I tried messaging andi on skype and I can see he's been online/away etc but doesn't seem interested because he didn't respond. If anyone's interested in a few paid tasks, inbox me or skype me @pezkooter and we can talk pricing. I'm just very weak in specific areas. Like side-facing sprites, nature tiles, etc. My strength has always been emulating other people's styles so creating my own is actually pretty difficult. I can't really do any paperdoll/hair without the side-facing sprite so I'm eager for that to be done hence paying for it.
  8. > for a gui check out dragonition hes pretty good Honestly speaking, my requirement for a UI artist is purely down to my own laziness. I did it once and lost the files. I'll get around to doing it again at some point if no one's interested in doing the UI. I'm in need of finding a pixel artist with which to collaborate. As I said there are things in which I have difficulty and spending hours on something someone else could do in 5 minutes seems like a waste of time.
  9. Yeah I really like that new sprite, you can definitely see an improvement in your skill as a pixel artist. I wouldn't say it looks like a player sprite though. The pissed off face makes me think it's some kind of villager in a Gnomoria/Towns/Dwarf Fortress style game. "Off to haul some more stone. *sigh*" I would rename it yes. "Cyrus" just feels like someone misspelled "Cyprus" - what you want to do in this case is use some random fantasy name generators/guild name generators and combine the results that you like.
  10. My post about a UI designer and pixel artist is here: [http://www.eclipseorigins.com/community/index.php?/topic/136305-ui-pixel-artist-recruitment-thread/](http://www.eclipseorigins.com/community/index.php?/topic/136305-ui-pixel-artist-recruitment-thread/) I feel I need to freshen things up a bit and go in-depth with what it is I'm trying to do with the art direction of my current project, which may or may not be an Eclipse game, we'll see how things go in that regard. On Grand Eternia (see above thread if unfamiliar) I'm looking to create a simplistic, yet distinct style for both the characters, items and world. To this end, the game world is larger than I am able to create on my own. Even with the simplistic style I'm still heavily in the process of creating. Example of WIP player sprite. All subject to change. ![](http://puu.sh/dV3Nn/f88c863d9a.png) Really what I'm looking for is someone who is either skilled in Sprite design or someone skilled in Tileset design. This is NOT a paid position and there's no aim to make money from the project (UNLESS we go with a certain Java engine.) I cannot promise payment in the short term, or at all, but down the road (definitely if we go with the aforementioned Java engine) there may be the possibility of payment. This project is a labor of love and a lacking market of quality ORPGs. I am a hobbyist. I dabble in all areas of game development and I would like to find someone who is slightly more professional in the realm of pixel art. If you too are keen on creating, maintaining and upholding the spirit that I believe Eclipse was founded on - The spirit of hobbyists helping each other to create fun ORPGs - then I would like you to join me in creating this game. My premise is "Simple is Solid." - A game doesn't need 10000 features to be fun and in more cases than not too many features is a death knoll for ORPGs. Through creating a personal style with what is quickly becoming my own standardized set of laws within this project, I believe that in the future when the game is up and being enjoyed, through releasing tutorials on how to adhere to these specific rules of style, we will be able to effectively sit back and allow our players to create the world of Eternia for us, though we would of course screen the assets and balance them before making them available to the players. I will continue with this project on my own, but progress is slow as my pixel art skill is relatively low and so I can't churn out many assets per session of motivation. I have a composer who is currently creating tracks in Midi (her stuff is great) and I feel that even alone, my motto of "Simple is Solid" will make this project a reality, albet a slow one, but eventually a reality nonetheless. If you don't want to join the project full time, or at all, perhaps you could lend 20 minutes here or there to draw up some items or monsters from your imagination that we might be able to use? If you're interested in helping out in any way, please consider adding me on skype @ pezkooter or sending me a private message here, I'll do my best to look at the replies but I don't frequent the website as often as I used to. Thanks for reading this post and I hope this gets more attention than the last.
  11. Because despite most people's opinions, he is infamous. He's managed multiple communities, created multiple variants and worked on more projects than I can count. You know who he is right? Most people do in this community, therefore he's infamous. People hate kanye west and justin beiber, yet they are still known, to be known is the definition of famous. Charles Manson is famous.
  12. > [http://images.mobilism.org/?dm=G12Q](http://images.mobilism.org/?dm=G12Q) > > Retro :^D Sure. But keep in mind I plan to have open areas that are non-world map travel too. Like forest fields, dungeon fields and town fields. In my game a Field is an area where the player can walk around at an accurate character to terrain ratio, like VX graphics.
  13. > right off the bat i can already see that the font doesn't even work well with your graphic style(not sure if it's just me or what). the buttons look a bit too faded into the background. Green, green and more green. other than that, meh. Yeah, that's why in the post I'm looking for a UI artist to do the buttons…
