  2. I really like this engine. The CS:DE GUI is great. The only thing I don't really like is the chat only being displayed when you talk. Also, I don't know if this is intentional or a bug, but when the chat is up, you can't move your character. Another bug I found was when I attempted to place a resource, the game starting loading and wouldn't stop. After I closed the client, the server gave me 'Runtime Error 9, subscript out of range.' And I'm not too sure why this is happening. All other games I've played are fine, but it appears that some of the maps aren't aligned properly. It's more harsh criticism than anything. It could be said in a nicer manner however. And I do agree with General Pony to an extent. I think you need more practice before releasing GUI's. Not that the ones you've released are so awful that you can't look at them, but I think there's definitely room for improvement. A good place to start would be browsing through the show off section of the forums and looking at other GUIs. Use a palette and get a color scheme that compliments the game's graphics. The tutorials section also has some good Photoshop tutorials. Even if you don't use Photoshop, you can still achieve the same or similar effects within Paint.net or GIMP. As General Pony mentioned earlier, start working on the GUI's and post them in the show off board and ask for constructive criticism. Take that and continue to improve. When you start getting a lot of positive feedback, that would be a good time to start releasing some.

    Check the source tutorials section. There are a few tutorials on integrating a pet system which should fit your needs. If you don't have VB6 to code it in, Dragon Eclipse in the Custom Versions section has it preloaded.
  5. Sounds good. I'm still interested in getting the code for Mods muting and admins being able to temp ban. For temp. mutes I'm looking for 48 hours for pmod access and permanent for administrators.

    I'm interested in a chat bubble system too. Something that makes talking in-game prettier :P

    BTW! Online server

    @Bcm27: > K thanks guys! I've decided to go with hosting my own for now. If you're ever going to host for a lot of players, I'd probably go with a VPS as said above. I've used one for a few games and it works great. Only downside is it's somewhat expensive.

Or at least how they had it in 2006\. I really liked that system. Adding a friend to your list, showing if they were online or not, and being able to click on the name to send a private message.

For the game I'm working on, I plan on having Player Moderators with the ability to mute other players who violate rules (as I find bans not appropriate for mods) Is there a script or source code that will allow me to have a Player Mod in-game to /mute (playername) for a certain amount of time?   14. Thanks Robin. I'm pretty new to Eclipse myself, and I'm still learning the ropes. Is there a tutorial on upgrading to Rich Text Box as well? And how might I go about adding the correct features so that a Moderator or Administrator will display an image in front of their name when talking?
  15. Hi there, I'm somewhat new to Eclipse, and I've been looking for a tutorial on a Rich Text Box. My goal is to load images through the text box. For example, if a player is a moderator, I want to be able to load an image in front of their name to symbolize they're a moderator, and all around, rich text boxes are better in my opinion. Does anyone know where I can find out how to do this? Thanks.
