  3. I'm actually only looking for six people Matt, it says that in the post. As far as the project manager, from what I understood they were able to multi task in the project which is why I gave myself the title, at-least that's the description in the game industry roles. I wouldn't be able to contribute much in any other programming language, but the vb6 prototype. I'll be funding where needed in the project as far as art and web development etc. I've been around eclipse for a while before being the owner, I've done a few projects I know not to look for a huge team. The post is a bit incomplete as some positions will be paid, I haven't had time to edit. As far as some positions on the team, I've already got some people hence I separated the current team spots vs. what I'm looking for. Thanks for the input guys. The original post has been updated with which positions are paid.
  4. Hey, I just updated the post with how to apply. Thanks.
  5. Hey eclipse, I'm reaching out to the community for a few helpful hands. I've been fixing to work on this game project for a while now and I'm finally ready to gather the team. I've waited until the right time where I could have all the proper resources to complete a prototype. I'm still working on a flow chart for the direction of the game as well as mechanics. The prototype will be from an eclipse based engine, the final product will not. The current team: >! Project manager: Zarachi (Link) >! >! Community management: Nick (AkatsukiNick) >! >! Lead programmer: Will (Nobody) >! >! Assistant programmer: Lycrios (conditional) >! >! Vb6/Prototype programmer: Zarachi (Link) >! >! Video composer: James, Zarachi (Link) Today I'll be looking for the following : Assistant writer: Web developer(paid): ![](http://i58.tinypic.com/2jf0v9i.png) Concept: 4/17/2015 **Intro:** In a world where dragon masters train to be the strongest, only very few can claim the title of a Draconi Legend. Travel vast lands, grow with your dragon partner, and discover new fearsome dungeons! Interact with players, test your skills in pvp, climb the leader board. Become a Draconi Legend. **About:** Draconi Legends takes place in an ancient period where Dragons still existed. In this era certain children were blessed at birth with a dragon partner, their souls being linked as one. This was known as "The conqueror's gift." Not every child was born this way, but few were gifted. During birth an angel of the sacred army would appear carrying an egg that matched the spirit of the child. This egg contained an embodiment of the child's spirit, their eternal partner. Most children born with this gift set out to become Draconi Legends; one who has mastered their spirit. The world map of Draconi legends is divided up into 5 parts, each part being its own nation. Each nation lived in harmony after a war that brought about chaos a millennia ago. Long ago there was one lone Draconi Legend whose evil heart created something horrific, he was the strongest of all the Draconi Legends but he found no satisfaction in not having an equal adversary, so he set out to destroy the other Draconi Legends one by one, and so, many fell victim to his wrath. This evil spirit gathered many from the dark forces as he soon wanted total control over the five nations, and with no Draconi Legends who could stand up to him his dream soon became a reality, until one day a direct descendent from the sacred army was born, this was the prodigal child. Seeing new hope, a group of elders sheltered and nurtured the child until his prophecy was to be fulfilled. The child and his draconic partner would lead the still remaining Draconi Legends into battle against this formidable foe. As the epic battle was coming to a close the two forces came face to face at last, as to what happened that day still remains a mystery, it was said to be written by the elders but stowed away. No one is certain how or what happened, but during the battle both legions were no longer in existence. Not a trace of either army remained, but only a desolated battle field. **How to apply:** Send me a message with the following; Name: Age: Position applied for: Previous experience: Can you skype?
  6. Been keeping with it since the beginning, Sky. Nice amount of progress, still hope it turns out well.

    Pokemon Dream World

Wishing Crest and you luck. I remember looking at the code for this, many things to be changed if you want to get anywhere with this at all. My best advice is to not waste your time, because you'll probably find later after you've added many cool little nippy features, that there's just one bit of something in the engine that can't be fixed. I wouldn't want to see you rage quit Pokémon. Then again, you said this was just a side thing.
  8. I was working on this a while ago myself and then stopped. I'll be glad to see where it goes. I do remember the cluster duck of code, so good luck with that.
  9. Well in accordance with the rules for every vote you got counted as an entry, so the people who won multiple times had their name entered more than once. Random name picker did the rest. All of those who won a prize please pm me with your details in relation to the prize.
  10. It's late, unexpected things happen. With having a new born I don't even have time to play Rotmg let alone focus all of my time on every detail about Eclipse. To put it into perspective I turned 20 on May 3rd and spent my day working, planning out things for eclipse and taking care of my daughter. 1. 12. You add it in visual basic 6, client side you create an image and have the button load the image via vb6, I'm sure there will be more server and client coding involved for friend system.

Pretty sure we're going back to SMF. We'll probably use the old theme for a bit too. Until the re-design is done.

Big mistake was not locking this to begin with. It's not an open debate or democracy folks.

    > The nerve. I will now retaliate by making known exactly the reason why not only I, but also Rob, quit. > > > > To be frank, Link is not leader material. He in incapable of providing solid direction, making rational decisions, and choosing capable staff. I attempted to develop for this community, and it was actually rather successful for the first few weeks; however, things fell apart rather quickly. > > > > The developers were treated in an extremely unfair fashion. Link made it well known that he would rather vest power in his cronies than the people who were actually working to make this community a better place. It quickly became unbearable. The final straw for me, and possibly Rob as well, was when Link wanted to meticulously control the development of the engine; he expected us to act as paid developers in an unpaid job. To me, as a full time student, this was simply unacceptable. Why should I allow myself to be bossed around when not only am I not being monetarily compensated, but also undervalued as a contributor to the well-being of this site? > > > > I wish Link luck. I'm sure the producers of such marvels as a hippie spewing rainbows at trashcans and asteroid clones will be just what this site needs. I asked if you guys wanted to do a flow chart and you quit, that's so tedious. Excuse me for wanting to keep members updates on what devs were doing, which was barely anything at the time. I never said I was leader material, and I didn't have solid direction when you were a developer and you're a prime example in why you're right about my choice in staff, at-least in the past anyway. Also sorry I didn't give you more power on the site because I didn't want developers doing a moderator's job, you got bored quickly after you realized being a dev wasn't all the glory you thought it would be. *Yawn* I'll admit the situation with Rob was sketchy, however, he also quit because he really didn't have the time. I knew this when he had trouble sending me a 24MB file that I had been asking for a week straight. Don't mix his story up with your own personal feelings. You didn't have to retaliate, but it's obviously something you wanted with the comments you've been making lately. I didn't want to control development, I let the development team do what they wanted, there was no result from this and members doubted you guys to begin with, except for Rob.

    Eclipse, a new chapter.

It was already being discussed before this topic, yet again you're jumping the gun. It was just a mention that Abhi was working on the .NET engine as his own thing. I only stated from the beginning that the Java engine would be the head, maybe people just have trouble comprehending. Thought you guys were smarter, mistake on my part. A few people seem to get it

    > You answered part 1 of my question but completely missed or neglected part 2. > > > > You claim you have 2 modern language engines ready to be developed or already in the process. (Java/.Net). My question is, is that a plan or do you actually have people signed on to develop those and if so, who are they? > > > > Followup question, you said: > > > > Which engine? (Java or .Net) While originally two engines was the plan…only the Java engine will be developed. We already had developers in the past try to do their own engines and failed horribly. John lacked any consistency, and initiative and Crest had no time, neither had the ability to finish an engine, I'll give Seth at-least that much. Like you said, it would only promote competition. #Learning from the past

    Eclipse, a new chapter.

I apologize for the delay in the introductions as the staff has been lost in the work of updating the website and other tasks. Their introductions will be forthcoming soon. Regarding Eclipse Worlds, there is no reason to fret. EW is still a main engine on Eclipse and the development continues under the command of Seth. I am confident his hard work and perseverance will continuously progress EW to the high standards the community expects. There has been a debate about the language of the new Engine; your concerns have been heard. After careful consideration, it is unquestionably still is in the best interest of Eclipse to continue with the language we have chosen. Please withhold premature judgment, until you see the fruits of our labor. Benjo, I know the community fears the past repeating itself; however, that will not be our legacy. Yes, there will a Plugin System and an Asset Store. The goal of the store is to assist in generating funds for developers, artists, musicians, and other members’ that have unique talents to contribute. Rest assured our promises will not vanish along with your money. JC, do not worry about previous mistakes from a previous owner or developer being repeated by us. The new direction of this community has never been brighter. Since my leadership, individuals have been flocking back to the community and it has exponentially seen growth and development unseen in several years. The community and staff are working in harmony to promote a better Eclipse. The partnership and new engine will indisputably be the next logical step in Eclipse’s evolution.

    Eclipse, a new chapter.

**Introduction.** Hello, my fellow Eclipsians! Questions have arisen about the surge of recent updates to the site, and the new individuals appearing on the Staff team. I am delighted to announce the partnership of Jump Button Studios and Eclipse! **Who owns the site?** AkatsukiNick and I are now co-owners of the website. With this change, a new Board of Directors will be fashioned with the objective of supporting Eclipse, assisting in the evolution of the website, and resolve any differences that may arise in the development of Eclipse. There will be a total of six board members: AkatsukiNick, Lycrios, Agoraphobic, two other members (that will later be announced), and I. In addition to other tasks, each member will be assigned to help maintain a portion of the site in areas each individual excels at. **What does this mean, and what is the future of Eclipse?** Three words: A brighter future. We are striving to elevate the website to a professional and structured level. Eclipse is in the process of being restructured to set a stable foundation in anticipation of Greenlighting the new engine via Steam. It will take time to for completion. Please, be patient for updates. In recognition of the creativity, determination, and dedication that making a game requires; we have started a Featured Game Spotlight. An exceptional game that meet the criteria, and highlights an engine, will be hosted on the banner for free. **Community** The community will receive regular updates and plans are in motion to get Eclipse more involved. Additionally, with the inclusion of new staff members; the rules will be reviewed and updated **Engine** The new engine will be written in Java; furthermore, another developer is constructing an engine in .Net. We encourage other indie developers begin work on personal projects to help the community. Nick and I will personally strive to provide the forum with developers who are professional, dedicated, and consistent in producing a high quality engine. Send us a message if you are seriously interested in being a developer. Although the staff are composed of volunteers, please realize this is a serious commitment. **Conclusion** We look forward to working with the community to promote a friendly environment for indie developers to push Eclipse into the future. - Eclipse Staff
  21. That's why apple pie is probably the best from McDonalds menu. The rest of you should try to stay on topic here.
  22. The art creeps me out, but goodluck
  23. Woo I'm your 59th sub! Well done video btw.
  24. My wife told me the same thing, at the end of the day it's really their choice. Just remember she probably wouldn't want to go on knowing she chose her life over her child's. Goodluck though!!
  25. Looks presentable, nice examples shown and a simple but accurate post. Well done.
