  7. It's nice and simple its good, but the numbers that show the mp can be a little hard to read (cause of the dark color).

The legs are shorter than the arms which makes it look unusual. Also the space in between the arms and the body makes it look bad. Either expand the body so the shoulders don't look unusual for the body size or place the arms by his side so the green in between doesn't show.

Not always the case, I always saw it as just a different way to pixel. No way is the absolute way or the right way imo. An outline could be a great guideline especially to someone new who can have trouble envisioning the end result. As for the picture the light source is inconsistent with the shading. The anatomy is off which ruins everything else. Work on the anatomy using outlines or shading blobs, whatever you feel comfortable with. The colors you chose for shading look off. There are a couple tutorials out there (use google) that talk about color pallets and hue shifting which help things blend together I would suggest reading up on those. Most importantly continue pixeling, practice makes you better over time.

  12. Take your time with it "something real quick" usually results in something really bad as a beginner. Before you show something off you gotta look at it yourself and ask yourself a couple of questions, does the colors look right? Does the lettering reflect the tone of the game? What can I do to make it better? The colors are the first thing that stand out, in a bad way, they don't really compliment each other in the way you are using them. I'm not really feeling the drop shadow in the lettering either, just doesn't fit. Be more creative with it instead of just using a gradient map for the background. Look at some tutorials first, learn a couple things then start experimenting again.

    some of the lines on top of the head look a big jagged and the eye could use better shading. Not bad for second time using tablet on sai.

Thats because its not a sword its a spear. ^^ I like the way it looks and I love that your deciding to put in an attack animation something most eclipse games lack.

  20. I have little experience with tilesets but the whole thing just feels a bit to blocky. The colors for the bottom one are bad the top one is better and it is okay for a simple tileset. It would be great to add some higlights to the cliff rocks and the grass.

  22. I want to love the black outline I really do unfortunately it doesn't fit in. The parts of the castle roof/wall that don't have black outlines (grey outline) look so great and blends in so much better. Just my opinion. By the way I love the fountain!
