1. User statuses always crack me up to read, post your funniest status experiences. ![](http://i.imgur.com/a8a4kLo.png)
2. laaaaaaaaa. wait, Ruby? You're using RPGMaker, that's… Well I was gonna say ironic that a mod on eclipse is using RPGMaker but that's like saying when I was a dev, i still used unity...
3. > i dont see how its wrong i'm legal lol… now that 17 dating a 24 yr old is wrong as hell Now if the situation was inverted, it might look good for you, but bad for her. In my case, the 24 year old looks all pedo dating a 17 year old, it's really a matter of perspective and opinion
4. > So apparently my family and grandma think its wrong for me being 19 and dating a 32 year old… Now I would like to know what the hell is wrong with this? love sees no age and its legal i hear about it all day all night saying why are you with her blah blah blah can someone give me some advice to make them stop? besides breaking up with my girl In a sense of society ethics, I could see how it would be viewed as wrong, but than again, my ex is 17 dating a 24 year old. I think that's kinda weird.
5. So, I was adding an extra layer of "protection" to my encryption, I'm encrypting files on my computer and locking folders in stuff, ya know, for fun. Well, I was wondering if the method of second salt I added was appropriate, I'm not good with Cryptography. First of all, it encrypts the file once, using an AES Algorithm. The Algorithm is created by a random salt with a user entered password. After creating the Encryption key out of that, it actually encrypts the user password and stores the encrypted version of it, with supersalting (explained below) in a file. It then uses the original password to lock and encrypt the desired directory and its path, so you really have no idea where it's stored, and sets the newly encrypted folder as a new file which is marked as an operating system file to add an extra layer of hiddeness(REAL WORD!) So here's what I wanna is efficient or not, I do what I call "SuperSalting". In this method, I take the original salt code and the pass. I generate a list random number which has the same amount of items as the salt code has in characters. The characers in the salt are randomly distributed around the encrypted password and each item in our Random list tells our program where to place the characters. After the characters are placed inside the salt code. And something, I'm not gonna lie, I myself was confused as I was writing this out, I only wrote it out to see if it would make sense to me… this is why we make flowcharts kiddos. As I was writing it, it occured to me that somewhere in this stupid code I would need a system password or something to decrypt with... someway, I would need to recover that password oneway or another, so ideally, the secondary decryption system is realitively useless because anyone can just decompile the program to see how the hell I did it... GG Me?
6. > *softly but with alot of feeling* what the fu##. You'll get used to this my friend, it's my bimonthly plan to take over.
7. > It goes both ways. **Legends** group is technically staff, just retired. I'm a retired staff >_>, I'm also an oldschool member and I'm freaking awesome… I used to even have my own user group... CREST IS COOL TOO! THEY HAVE A BRAND OF TOOTHPASTE NAMED AFTER ME!
8. > I am not so uptight in person. ;) Honestly though, the staff would have to come or else it wouldn't really be a real meetup. Not to rain on your glory, but it wouldn't be a meetup without some of eclipse's more popular members… like Marsh... and Richy.
9. > Yeah, duck you. Probably doug too, I forgot you, sorry.
10. I got a car and a job, if I plan to meet anyone up, it won't be 'til AT LEAST April or May. and it all depends on who with. Most of you guys are still considered minors, and I'd really not like to get weird looks for travelling across the nation to see minors… That being said the only people I would actually like to meet up with in real life, and no offense to other members would probably be Lex Evan, Matt, John, Zarachi, And that's probably the whole list... if other members like Chief and Sekaru were still here, they'd probably be on that list too.
11. > Totally love that song
12. > That scheme was so evil it sent shivers down my left foot. It better have.
13. I'm going to take over eclipse, this time is a for sure. Today I came up with the ultimate plan. I AM GOING TO GO TO YUKIRO, AND I AM GOING TO,…. ask him politely to hand it over, because saying please and thank you are the proper way of getting what you want.
14. Do you use version checking or something? Hoe do you check for updates in. This one? I too have an updated and I might be able to male some suggestions to you if you're interested.
15. This is stupid, I'm gonna go make my own eclipse, with black jack… and hookers, ya know what, just forget the eclipse thing.
16. > I won't get the money that the download center makes. That will go toward the hosting costs. I will make money by making plugins. People act like if you do work it is worthless around **Eclipse**.If you can actually finish something that you start I would listen, but people who act like that are usually lazy and inefficient workers. They are envious that they can't finish what they start. That's not the point, your entire post literally sounds like you're pulling an amish and selling a gold and free system. That's what I'm trying to tell you, edit the post and clarify, in detail, your plan. There's nothing wrong with having a plugin selling system, me and john actually had that idea as developers as well before quitting.
17. > A library is not software - a library enhances software. My plugin API will be closed-source, but people do not have to use plugins, they are optional. The engine will be completely free and open-source. Plugins will be made by the community similar to **Sadscript**. I know what a library is, all you said was "Architecture" If you're going to write a post about monetization on eclipse, write it, in detail, explaining all the importance of things you know will cause controversy, because all this posts sounds like is a way for you to get money in your own pocket.
18. Then you really should elaborate because the original post LITERALLY SAID… * We ask a set amount of money and put 75% or more of it into the project, the other 25% goes to the site costs. * **Donators **will be able to download the **Gold Edition **of **Eclipse Worlds**. **Gold Members** that already exist, will be moved to **Donator** group. **Gold Member** group will be disbanded. giving no information about anything. For all anyone knows, you're gonna do just like amish with stuff like that.
19. "My plugin architecture will be a .DLL and closed-source. I will provide the API for people to use, we will eventually move to .NET or C++ server. I think this model is better which is why I am not defending the **Gold Member** model." Which, I should add was originally an idea of John and I to add with Lunar Eclipse.
20. > **Eclipse Worlds** is free and the donation model makes it free. The only reason the Gold Edition costs money is cause it was before I joined **Eclipse** staff. Breaking promises with people is very bad. I am giving people the choice to choose. The **Gold Member** model is **Amish** 2.0\. The donation model is essentially **Eclipse** being ran as a service. > > > > > > EO has been discontinued. How could it possibly pertain to that engine? Seth, stop hiding it behind the word donation. You're closing the source, and selling a better version to members, there's no other way of putting that.
21. > Since when did EO become EW? I am seriosuly confused… Are we donating for EW or EO?? He's talking about closing the source for Eclipse Worlds and making it so you're required to a "donation" to get the full version, just like EO4 was. Donation is a fancy word for, "You have to pay us AT LEAST X amount, but feel free to give us more". In addition to this, he wants the majority of the money to be given to EW, so he can profit, when half of the written source isn't even his. So, either way, you're paying him over eclipse. Finally, when Yukiro purchased the site, he told all the users that Eclipse would be free and open source again. Closing the source and selling it, AND calling it the official build is literally making a liar out of him. But, I want to hear what Yukiro has to say before making that assumption.
22. > We're talking about paying people to make **Eclipse** better. Donation goals are ways to make **Eclipse** better. My time is not free. Even if I do donate a lot of it to projects. > > > **Eclipse** with both models is aimed at making more money than what it costs to run. This is not a nonprofit organization. > > > > My plugin architecture will be a .DLL and closed-source. I will provide the API for people to use, we will eventually move to .NET or C++ server. No joke dude, Literally Amish2.0\. Seriously, Eclipse was originally invented to be free, "FreeMMORPGMaker.com" Isn't that misleading now? Eclipse turned into an educational tool believe it or not. and, while I understand that your "time isn't free" You didn't hand code Eclipse Worlds from scratch. In fact, from my understanding, it's not 100% your code to profit from either. And, while this argument sounds one sided, as the side of the users of eclipse, you have to remember, I was on both sides of the coin as well.
23. Also a question, Eclipse Worlds doesn't cost a dime to make. Why would 75% go to Eclipse Worlds and 25% go to the website?
