Crawle is a sandbox dungeon crawler with a focus on realistic survival using mechanics such as hunger, thirst, diseases and wilderness survival such as creating your own tools, skinning animals for meat and fur and using the resources around you to stay alive. The game is currently in beta meaning that the game is very subject to change in the next few months before full release.

it stoped now seemed like more than one updates had been released but it only downloaded one each time for some reason.

Anyway i found a bug where i could get unlimited number of flints i think it happens when i pass over a flint with full inventory (cant remember if thats what caused it but i am sure you need a full inventory for it to hapen) the character drops another flint to the ground.

Another think i noticed wich i am not sure if its a bug or not is that i cant always make fire (almost all of the times i cant so i am forced to waste all my time in finding seeds and hunting for raw meat).

When i was building a house and while adding logs to the house the frame came up and i stucked in it i couldnt get out so i had to erase that world

Also when i die and click try again nothing happens

Hello all! Crawle 0.5.3 has been released! This patch addresses several issues in both singleplayer and multiplayer. It also adds functionality for changing your render device (see [this post](http://sleepystudios.com/showthread.php?tid=646) for more information). It also fixes the need for new worlds every time a patch changes data structures.

**Changelog:**

–-------------

0.5.2 --> 0.5.3

---------------

[NOTE: YOU WILL REQUIRE A NEW WORLD - THIS PATCH WILL FIX HAVING TO DO THIS FROM NOW ON]

# ADDITIONS

- Added a "drop animal" button next to the equipment window.

- Eating food now adds to your blood content and energy.

- You can now change your rendering device in settings.ini (1=hardware, 2=software, 3=mixed).

- Added a launcher for XP users that allows them to use an alternate rendering device.

# CHANGES

- Items, worlds and players (in singleplayer) are now stored separately.

- Worlds are now stored as worldx, instead of world_x.

- Animals are now dropped only through clicking the "drop animal" button.

- Animals no longer get dropped after logging out.

- Reduced the amount of blood lost every tick when bleeding.

- Buildings now have collision in the first stage to prevent getting stuck in them.

- Updated the disease graphic.

- Increased the disease times by 30 seconds each and the stat take interval by 4 seconds.

- Renamed 'flint' to 'rock'.

# FIXES

- Fixed a duplication bug with branches and flint.

- Fixed branches disappearing when clicked.

- Fixed not being able to pick up animals on tall grass.

- Fixed not being able to catch diseases from held animals.

- Fixed the server disconnection timer taking too long.

- Fixed disconnected players not being cleared after being disconnected.

**Highlights**

You will now find this in your /bin/content/data/settings.ini:

![](http://i.imgur.com/iS4Un.png)

This will allow you to change the way Crawle renders the game. XP Users can't use "Mixed Rendering" (3) so they should try and use Hardware or Software rendering. Normal users can also change their rendering type if they want to try to see other rendering methods for improved performance.

When holding an animal this icon now appears:

![](http://i.imgur.com/ORjHP.png)

This icon will simply allow you to drop it. You can also right-click your character to drop it.

In addition to this, we've pretty much fixed all the issues identified by the community, thank you to everyone who has been reporting bugs and remember you can always report new ones here: http://sleepystudios.com/bugs

Hello all! This patch finally brings some new content to the game and quite a few requested changes. It also makes some massive changes to the backend of the game. This means that you will require a new world. I realise how much of an idiot I sound considering I said that 0.5.3 would fix this - it didn't, I'll admit that, but this does.

**Changelog:**

–-------------

0.5.3 --> 0.5.4

---------------

# ADDITIONS

- Added proper villages! Villagers will now live together in huts.

- Updated the villager textures.

- Added a fourth Device option: pure. Try it if the others don't work.

- Tree bark can now be taken from trees.

- Baskets can now be crafted using tree bark.

- Baskets can now be placed by dropping them.

- Baskets can now be picked up by emptying them and walking over them.

- You can now make huts (temporarily the only thing you can make in place of houses).

# CHANGES

- Branches are now dropped around trees when they are cut down.

- Modified the trade window graphic slightly.

- Modified the "You Died" graphic slightly.

- The ambience music will now play more frequently.

- Drinking water will now completely fill your thirst (whilst standing still).

- Increased the number of rocks in the world.

# FIXES

- Fixed the interaction cursor not working in dungeons.

- Fixed energy not being taken away in some cases.

- Fixed losing legs at random places.

- Fixed the invisible baskets.

- Fixed hovering over items giving an error.

- Fixed deaths in dungeons.

- Fixed spawning in walls.

- Fixed the screen border appearing on some graphics cards.

- Fixed some issues with the Device options.

- Fixed the time it took to load a world in multiplayer.

**Highlights**

Baskets can now be crafted using tree bark (which can be obtained by simply right-clicking a tree and clicking "Take Bark"). You will need 5 Tree Barks in order to make a finished basket. These baskets can be placed by right-clicking and dropping them from your inventory.

![](http://i.imgur.com/Lp0Eb.png)

You can then click on them to open up their mini inventory. Baskets can hold up to 4 items. To pick it up again you must empty it out and then you can pick it up by simply walking over it.

Villagers have had a massive makeover. They are now a lot more tribal and live in huts. Huts are now also buildable in place (temporarily) of houses. We are planning to redo the building system we wanted to take our time with it to make it as good as can be.

![](http://i.imgur.com/5mOFi.png)

Finally, due to the large number of requests, you will now drink until your thirst bar has been completely filled up (walking will interrupt this).

Merry Christmas everyone and thank you for your continued support!

  • 2 weeks later...
I'm an avid fan of dungeon crawlers/survival games and have extremely high expectations of those games. When I first seen Crawle, I knew it would be the game for me. My main concern was that it wouldn't deliver on what I was expecting. After purchasing the game and playing it, I have to say it didn't disappoint.

**I. First Impression**

The game has a small learning curve, as there's no crafting menu or recipes. You learn the crafting recipes by trial and error; First thing I did was try to combine everything together and then try the tools on different things. Luckily it tells you when you need a "Sharp tool" or an "Axe", so it does give you a bit of hints. Truthfully though just a few minutes of trial and error and you can pick everything up easily.

The controls are easy enough, the gui nice and simple, everything was self explanatory. I have to say I really enjoy perm-death, as the game wouldn't have the same effect without it. As long as you play smart, death really isn't an issue.

**II.** **Development** **and Errors**

What really made me enjoy the game, was you could see how much time and love has been put into the game. Many developers (companies) lose focus on making a game and worry about how much money they can make. They forget that while making money is great, you have to love and be proud of the game you're making. Just by playing Crawle for a few minutes, you really can tell the developer didn't lose focus on why he was making a game.

The first thing I did (with some help from my 7 year old) was try to find as many glitches and bugs as we could. Even though I found several, there wasn't as many or blatantly easy to find/exploit, as many other games I have played.

No quicker than I reported them, they were fixed. I also know of people making suggestions and Sek's taking their suggestions in consideration, to improve his game. Many developers don't like to hear criticism or listen to their player base, as such the game dies. Luckily this isn't the case for Crawle.

**III. Price** **and Fun**

The game price is $1 or you can pay what you feel is right. After playing the game, I would have no problem paying $5-$10 for the game. It's enjoyable, has high replay value, it's simple, yet complex, and above all else the developer is still working on it, releasing free updates. Seriously, for it's price, there's no reason not to get it. If for no other reason to support a good indie developer.

I thought I would add a note saying this review was written on my experience when I played the game, not because Sek is my friend. If anything ,I would be more critical on my review, as I would want him to make a good game, not lie about a bad game.

**Final Thoughts**

Many of the games that I play charge more and give less. Luckily Crawle doesn't fail to deliver and I look forward to future updates.

Crawle 0.5.5 has been released! There were 2 main focuses this patch: fixing up multiplayer and improving the tutorial functionality. I'd also like to mention that we will be starting on 0.6.0 soon. 0.6.0 will be a _massive_ content patch and therefore it may take a while to get out, but don't worry, we'll continue to post updates on a regular basis! Make sure to keep up to date with all the development news and blogs here: http://sleepystudios.com/forumdisplay.php?fid=46

**Changelog:**

**Highlights:**

Rivers are now generated in place of water. They're a lot rarer so it'll be a bit more difficult to top up your thirst bar now. We've also (finally) added swimming.

![](http://i.imgur.com/BYpxi.png)

Tutorial worlds and the large tutorials have been merged into a new Tips system. These Tips will appear based on several conditions (however a few basic ones will pop up at the start), you can choose whether or not to enable them with each new world.

![](http://i.imgur.com/2Yeyz.png)

Finally, we've made a ton of multiplayer improvements. Hopefully it should be a lot more stabler now and the additional functionality should be useful. As always you can report bugs [here](http://sleepystudios.com/bugs/).

**IMPORTANT!**

This update introduces a new updater. After updating go to your Crawle folder and open "Patcher.exe". From then on you can play as normal (from a shortcut or whatever you usually launch Crawle from). The Patcher just needs to be "installed" first for future updates.
