Creating a server

Hello everyone, as some of you may already know. I'm new to this website and the game itself, well I found this threw a friend who told me about it, and I find it really cool and something to do in my free time. So I decided to make a server, I've had experience with the following:

-html

-php

-VB

-c++

-c#

and I've been making servers threw Endless Online for a good while as well… anyways I was wondering if someone could give me some helpful information on what I need for the servers in this mmorpg maker What are the requirements, what is something I should think about adding, some information on how to use the editors. Anything that could be of use, it would be great if you could enlighten me on this subject.

This is not an game this is an ORPG Maker

You got there an server and an client (VB6)

And with them can you create your own ORPG ;-)

That's what I meant, but I was wondering what is there that I should know before I jump into creating stuff.

The base engine (client and server) is already created for you, unless you're intending on making your own. If you just plan to add features to your game, all you need to know is VB. In order to put those edits into effect, you need Visual Basic 6.

Atleast to start with, head to the downloads page to see the default engine

Now that I've mention custom versions…

_Custom versions are edited versions of the eclipse engine. Whether they're code changes or something alot tinier. But i dont recommend using them unless you have any experience with the actual engine to start._

I know im really not the best at explanations, as i literally explained what you could find in 5 minutes. But I hope I atleast helped a bit.
