Should Eclipse be Ported to a Cross Platform Language?

Something like C/C++, Python, or Real Basic?

What do you people think, I think if it was Real Basic would be easiest because it's Syntax is closest to VB but C++, Python or C would probably be way more flexible alas it would take more time because there aren't very many C++ programmers here, And I don't know anyone here besides me who knows Python.
People have been begging for a Cross platform Eclipse for a long time so I think maybe we should give it a shot.
