No-IP Tutorial

Are you afraid to be hacked? Want more security? Use No-IP! This service will hide your IP address from the eclipse client. So, when you look that IP Config screen, what will show there is your No-IP address, like "demonslayer.no-ip.info" (mine), and it will redirect it to your hoster's computer without exposing the IP address!

* * *

Open [http://www.no-ip.com/downloads.php](http://www.no-ip.com/downloads.php) and download the No-IP compatible with your operational system (Windows, Mac or Linux), after download, install, but don't open.

Now come back to the site, and click "Sign-up Now!". Use valid e-mail address (need account confirmation and used for login) and use a password that you won't forget! The other things you need to write, but anything is OK.

When done, confirm your account with the e-mail they sent to you in that address you wrote before. So, login in the website.

When logged-in, you'll be redirected to another page, there click "Add", under "Hosts/Redirects". In the "Hostname:" use the name of your game or other thing (this will be at the client!). Then click "Create Host".

Done! Now open your No-IP program downloaded before, write your login information and it'll open the address you wrote before. So, write that address that your No-IP is hosting (the No-IP doesn't host, you host :cheesy:) in the IP Config screen from your client. Then send your client to others.

And now to turn on you No-IP, open the program, log in, and mark the box beside your address in the white menu. It will load and update you No-IP, so, other one now can connect to your computer.

**THIS WON'T SAVE YOU FROM PORT FORWARDING!**

So your saying this makes your IP invisible to others in the Client's config?

Couldn't they go to the config folder and access your IP?

Sorry but your not explaining at all what it actually does…"This service will hide your IP address form the eclipse client" Is that all your going to explain?

Yeah but this is cool cause lets say your friend wants to host your server while your on vacation so he downloads No-IP and gets ur server, then logs into NO-IP with your email and password and ta daa all he does is port forward with whatever port it is and there you go. You can host from any computer you want (or any computer you can).

That wasn't the real objective but… All he does is this:

> YOUR IP ISN'T SHOWN TO ANYBODY! IF YOU OPEN CONFIG.INI, THE IP ADDRES IS YOURNOIP.NO-IP.INFO OR OTHER, AND IN THE IP CONFIG SCREEN WILL SHOW THE SAME THING…
