****Midnight Man - V3 Final****

**_Information:_**

This game is based on a _**real**_ ritual to summon the spirit named _'The Midnight Man'_ to punish rule breakers in Pagan religions long ago. This ritual is still practiced today.

**Game Rules:**

Your goal is to avoid the midnight man at all costs until 3:33AM. You may move through the house to avoid him. If he is near; your candle will go out. **You cannot re-light you're candle if you are near the midnight man**. The midnight man has the abilities to move objects, open doors .etc, so watch out for this happening as it will indicate that he is near. If you are still alive at 3:33am, you’ve won..

**Controls:**

Move - Arrow keys / WSAD

Sprint - Shift

Jump - Space

Interact/Relight candle - F

Pause - Esc

**Download:**

Instead of using a spotlight you should use the ambient lighting of your particle effect for your candle; this can be done in Unity (the free version) even if you don't have Pro. PS: the guy in that video is incredibly annoying and overreacting.

Honestly watching the video ruined it for me, I was more annoyed than scared. As Bud said the guy was being extremely annoying and overreacted on everything.

Game wise, It just appears you're running around not really accomplishing anything, objectives would be nice. Just running around lighting a candle isn't my kind of game.

Just my opinion, best of luck though.

Few things I'd like to say after an initial playthrough:

1. The clock doesn't tick/update often at all, and when it does, it's sporadic. Is that because you have it being triggered by an event? Felt like it.

2. "Midnight Man" just hangs out at the glass doors downstairs; I stared at him for a good minute or two even with doors and all that jazz opening.

3. Look speed. For baby heyzeus's sake, man.. edit the FPS controller your using to slow down look speed, or at least have it adjustable in the settings menu.

4. Getting hung up on objects is a buzz kill. I got trapped between the coffee table and "Midnight Man". Couldn't relight my candle and couldn't jump over the table.

5. That spotlight your using (already mentioned in a previous post). It'll exponentially add to the ambience/feel of your game if you only used the ambient lighting from the particle effect for your candle.
6. Web player, please.
7. Dropbox, SkyDrive, or other cloud based storage downloads, please.

All in all, it's a cheap jump scare with diminishing returns. Do you plan on adding to this?

1\. The clock changes every 30 in-game minutes (About 90 seconds)

2\. In version 1, the midnight man stays at the door from 00:30 - 01:00, this is changed in V2 where hes already inside the house by 00:30.

3\. Will do. ![:P](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.png)

5\. That's a first.

6\. There IS a webplayer version on GameJolt.

7\. Why?

Ah. So every minute and a half of real world time the game ticks 30 minutes. Great (3), and great (6). Why? Have you seen file hosts lately? Littered with bad links. It's honestly much easier to be able to just click on a link here and a download start in lieu of clicking on a link here, going to another website, clicking on a link there and going to yet another website, skipping an advertisement and hoping you don't click on anything else, and then finally arriving at your download which tons of links and images imply that IT is your download when it's not. I'm just not a fan of all that. ![;)](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png) You can also host webplayer content through your cloud storage. Win/win.

(7) GameJolt offers developer revenue so yeah. ![^_^](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/happy.png) I'll add a webplayer verson onto my website however. ![:)](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png) And I couldn't agree more, I would use drop box, the only thing is that it has a limit of brandwidth sharing per day and mine will deffinately go over the limit since I get a high demand of brandwidth. So its safer using media fire. ![:)](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png)

Yeah, I noticed the ads ("Revenue from this advertisement supports the developer"). I'm going to be looking into it myself for a demo of what I'm working on.

If you don't have your own website and google adsense, then I recommend it; if you do however, its better to post it onto your website instead for almost 3x the profit you wouldn't get on gamejolt. ![:)](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png) Good luck!
