LilCheatah you don't help anything. He/she is asking if he/she can run it on Linux. Seriously stop spamming.

On topic: Yes i think its possible trough wine or some source editing and all. I *think* there is a tutorial somewhere that tells you how to make it run on Linux.If i can find it i will post a link here.

Well, I think Wine may work… There's a guide posted on how to run eclipse on linux (see below), you will have to search for it, but I'm not 100% sure if the newer versions of eclipse work on linux

Here is some support a member gave on the subject:
@Godlord:

> Without the Linux distribution and possibly version I cannot really help. It differs from distribution to distribution. Yes, it's possible to run the Eclipse server next to a webserver. Do I suggest this? No, not really. A webserver is normally dedicated or shared and is then only meant for websites. Normally you get another server for the Eclipse Server since they both do take a lot of CPU and memory (this has nothing to do with bad programming, it's a server).
>
> Is it possible to run Eclipse on Linux? Yes, it is possible. You will only probably struggle on the packages and installing…
>
> On Linux Ubuntu and variants or better yet Linux Debian and variants you can use apt-get to download WINE (Wine Is No Emulator or Wine Is Not an Emulator). You normally use something like "apt-get install wine". This will download the Debian package of WINE and it will install it for you. Then you can normally use the Eclipse Server via WINE. (Use the search function of the forum and search something like "WINE Eclipse", there's a tutorial, probably stickied).

> On Linux RedHat and variants you normally try to get the .rpm package. If there isn't one then you can convert the Debian one to a .rpm package via something like Alien (It does .rpm to .deb, but don't ask me if it is bi-directional). There's always Google.
>
> On other Linuxes which don't support .rpm or .deb there's Tarball or even zip or in some cases they have their own packages. But there's again always Google.
>
> On Damn Small Linux (if your server has this, I'll laugh) you can use MyDSL to download WINE. It's under Testing, UNC or UCI (I don't remember), etc. Just download it and it will automaticly install the thing. You can then just use wine test.exe to run an application of Windows.

> Anyway there's a WINE tutorial which should work, there should be a few other emulators but I don't know much of those.

Also see this topic, it links to the guide: http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php/topic,25629.0.html
