XxArchAngelxX
ok, so i was wondering if there was a reason (Apart from its Ducking hard work) that no-one Draws tile sets by hand?i am asking because i was thinking of doing that for my games tile sets and sprites…![](http://ui28.gamespot.com/955/image_4.png)
Keebler Elf
Mainly the reason is its hard work. Also it just takes alot of time. If your not going to start till you have a custom tile set then you have to wait a long time before you can start mapping.
XxArchAngelxX
yea i know that already, i am not too worked up about "OH I NEED TO START MAPPING!!""MY GAME CANT TAKE MORE THAN A YEAR TO MAKE!!" no i am willing to wait and do everything it takes, so if the only problem is hard work and time then i guess i will start C:![](http://ui28.gamespot.com/955/image_4.png)
Keebler Elf
Also there is the problem of makeing good tiles. So make sure you try and get some cummunity in put cause you may love your tiles and others may hate them.
jna
Ya like post examples of your work and see if people like them, if they do well continue, if they don't ask them what you can do to make it better.
Admiral Refuge
What do you mean??? I make my tilesets by hand
maxac
I think he means like drawing them on paper and scanning them…
Keebler Elf
No he proboly just means pixle arting them because its fricken impossible to draw them to scale by hand. That is unless you use 32 by 32 graph paper and scale it down. But then when you want to see hwo it looks you have to walk like 50 feet away to see. Admiral Refuge
What you can do, is print out 32x32 grids on paper, and use that as a reference.![](http://i42.tinypic.com/2s6sw29.png)Something like the above, but taking up the whole piece of paper
Hippoman789
or draw a tree then convert it into 32x32 boxes. then remove the boxes and put it into a tile set.

Keebler Elf
Well since your doing it on such a larger scale remember that you will also not get as good of blending and such on the smaller scale so you have to make each box only one color and one shade of it. I tryed the graph paper thing and found out it was harder for me.
XxArchAngelxX
I'm sorry i don't understand, please explain.![](http://ui28.gamespot.com/955/image_4.png)
Anna Comnena
I'm working on graphics and drawing them by hand. Well, I'm manually moving the mouse and clicking each pixel where I want it. Later on when I do some after detail work I might use some filters and tricks, but for now it's all manual tedious pixel farming.
