Everytime I turn it on my desktop doesnt start, I have to run task manager and start programs from there. Why cant companies give you the freaking disc anymore >.<umm… well can you backup all your data, and do a restore from the install partition. Every computer I ever bought, when turning it on it would tell me that I first need to burn the OS on a DVD. You could skip the step, but you shouldn't. Guest Posted March 18, 2009 Share Posted March 18, 2009 I ran into this problem a while back when I worked at a PC shop. They DID NOT want it reformatted so the fix I gave them is rather humorous. They only had a few applications they used so I created batch files, gave them the correct icon and renamed them so when you double clicked it, it would open Internet Explorer.
