ForzaDinatura
It seems that anyone using a damaging spell can exploit by putting a blocked tile between themselves and the monster and smashing the button and they will never get hit. Has anyone found a solution to this?
monowolf00
How about the good ol' taking away the MP when you use the spell?
ForzaDinatura
I don't see how that solves the problem. Right now the problem is that mages can shoot the monsters without having to avoid or actualy fight the monsters.
dg1423
well spells don't fly, they just affect the target. if you want spells to actually "travel" and not go through blocked tiles, you'll need to script it yourself.
Admiral Refuge
The solution I would use, would be giving the mage a very low physical strength and defense, this way they have that advantage of blocking themselves (though, if the NPCs are set to "attack on sight", even more npcs will be charging at the mage), they would have a disadvantage on the end that they wouldn't be able to melee. After all, isn't that what the mage is for anyway?
Drummerpete
Why not alter the AI and make the NPC go _around_ the block?
Admiral Refuge
If it's just one block, usually the NPC goes around it anyway (atleast, it does for me). Though, if it's two or three blocks, the npc will be stuck.

Admiral Refuge
@Bob:> But editing it further _is_ an option?Yea; I mean, the AI is kinda basic here, I suppose if you knew VB, you could rewrite it.I'd wait for 3.0 though, since it can import Java Libraries and stuff (I have goals for my NPCs to be running on a neural network ;))
